It was the first time I have been to the Ginger cafè. Nice clean and tidy place, comfortable seats, clean toilet, friendly staff. The cakes were amazing (lovely home baked cakes). The coffee blend they are using was absolutely tailored to my taste. It was great. I had a panini (ham and cheese) and never have I ever had a panini so lovely. It was a lot of filling and not greedy with the ham. The cheese which I loved the most was not not Cheddar (can't stand that stuff in a panini). The portion was huge and absolutely delicious. I will definitely go back there and try some of their other foods. The sound and sandwiches looked amazing too. Please give it a shot and let us know what your experience was like.

A nice wee place that seemed to attract a steady stream of locals. The decor was pleasant and inviting and there were quite a lot of tables. I had a coffee which tasted a bit unusual (vanilla-y?) and a plain scone that also had an unusual flavour I couldn't place. The scone was served with blackcurrant jam, which is an unconventional choice but worked with that scone. Service was quick and friendly enough. Prices were reasonable. One drawback was that the front door tended not to shut properly, which annoyed customers sitting near it because they constantly had to get up and shut it or put up with the draught.

We loved our brunch at Ginger Cafe! I was served some of the best pancakes I’ve ever had, just deliciously fluffy and I loved how fresh they were. My boyfriend enjoyed his full Scottish too. They were happy to made small changes to my order which I appreciated, and the service was friendly and attentive. The vibe of the cafe is just my sort of thing, very local and cosy. some of the chairs and menus have seen better days, but I’d still go back in a heartbeat (in fact I’m tempted to go again tomorrow).

Lovely wee cafe which I visit regularly. Cakes beautiful, home baked by owner and great toasties served with crisps /coleslaw. Good homemade soup too. Decor different from the other cafes but also nice and very unique. Door a nuisance as it kps opening and draught/wind comes in. However I right this review with disappointment as I took my grandson for his breakfast today. He wanted pancakes and syrup/fruit but there was no pancakes in the cafe although on menu. Then he decided he wanted toast/advocato with bacon, I ordered and paid for us both I had a toastie, but was extremely disappointed when his arrived to see one piece of bacon. Yes one piece cooked throughly and very small. He was very disappointed and asked if I would ask for more to buy. I declined as I had already paid £7.95 for it and knew it would be expensive if that’s all he was getting. He did receive a advocato spread on a piece of toast. So I was very disappointed to say the least. I’m not in the habit of complaining in any cafes/restaurants but I do intend on spking to the owner while on my own. I was in a rush and also didn’t want my grandson to hear me complaining but come on barbra the women that owns the cafe. Was that a mistake or is it one rasher only. Please reply but I’m future I will avoid the cafe which I enjoyed...

Ordered our food but when it arrived, it wasn't right - I had ordered a panini and soup and my husband ordered the same but the toastie version. Mine came out as the soup and sandwich combo but they were very apologetic and fixed it quickly. My husband's meal however was completely the wrong filling. When I told them this, they said they were sorry but that's what was written down and it was paid for so there was nothing they could do about it. I specifically told them this was not what I ordered and the girl said let me speak to the chef. The girl who took our order then came over and told me that that was what I ordered and again I said it wasn't. I was once again told that it was paid for so they couldn't do much so she said she would go and speak to the manager. She then came back with £7.50 saying they were not prepared to make another one and that was my refund.

I have to say I have never been treated like that in a cafe or restuarant before, and both mistakes were made by the server. It was such ashame because the soup was nice, but we won't...
