We visited Gino's tonight, as we love trying local businesses. Overall, we found the experience to be quite cosy and comfortable, we had a good time. Gino's menu has a wide variety of options making the menu suitable for many. Furthermore, the front of house staff were kind and did their jobs, however at no point were we asked about the quality of our food and if we were enjoying it, until we were leaving the restaurant. On this note however, we did not have any complaints with our food and found it too be very enjoyable and fresh + the prices were excellent value for money.
Unfortunately, we felt disappointed that the chef greeted all of the tables apart from ours. This made us feel uncomfortable and in a sense 'unwelcomed'. Potentially two young men aren't common in his restaurant, I am not sure?
My partner and I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a local place to eat in Stonehaven. Prices are good value for money, staff accommodate guests and it gives the feel of a authentic...
Read moreI would rate this zero stars if possible! We decided Italian sounded great after visiting Dunnottar Castle so we chose Gino's. Upon walking into the restaurant we were met with a hesitant waitress. She told us to pick a table (for only 2 people) and she would get it set up. When we enquired about the empty tables in the back and were informed they were reserved for bookings. We sat down and waited for approximately 10 minutes before our drink order was taken, then waited a other 10 minutes for the drink. We finally received our drinks and were promptly ignored some more. Finally, someone popped out from the kitchen and looked at us, and a few seconds later the waitress approached us to let us know the kitchen was backed up and they could maybe take our order in 10 or so minutes. At this point we decided we had waited long enough so we left payment on the table for the soft drinks. We felt the staff intentionally ignored us for the entire time we were there (over a half an hour). We do not recommend...
Read moreFirst visit in years and won't be back. First waitress doesn't know what beer is out of stock. Then the food arrives and the veal looked very unappetising, mine was very underwhelming for being a special and definitely not worth £16 and other 2 dishes look fine but turns out the chicken was raw in the middle. My husband didn't want to make a fuss but we couldn't catch either waitress' attention anyway. Gino obviously has regulars and welcomed a table of regulars personally. However we weren't acknowledged. when told about our raw chicken he apologies and offers a free beer and to take the meal off our bill. We thought this was fine but then we get the bill and the two drinks have been taken off (others tap water) but not the chicken. We question this and are offered another £2 off which we declined. The bill is then edited, drinks put back on and the raw chicken meal taken off. So not only was the food inedible but we had to beg to not pay for it. Not a...
