What can I say! This was probably the biggest disappointment that we had in the quality of food for a cafĂ© during our stay in Scotland. A full breakfast didn’t have any eggs as they ran out, yet they still charged us full price. The pork sausage was tasteless and grainy. The piece of Nan bread was soggy. The ham at the bottom underneath everything was good, but you had to dig for it. The only thing that redeemed in this breakfast were the beans. Then there were the table and chair wars! You would think that two neighboring restaurants would be able to sort out between themselves, and share the tables and chairs with each other —- be good neighbors. Rather, the neighboring cafĂ© to Kronks comes over to a Kronk’s customer and says they have to move because they are sitting in her chairs. We watched this happen, and it made for interesting breakfast viewing. Each of the tables were marked with the name of the cafe. At first, when I saw the sign on the table “Kronks only”, I thought it was a Scottish thing that maybe only locals were allowed to sit at. I decided that if somebody asked me if I was a Kronk, I would say, “Aye, I am!” Great atmosphere, and sounds, on the little patio as well as table and chair wars.

Inside is a wee bit cramped so if it’s busy there is a bit of a wait to order but that’s about the only downside. Staff are friendly and the place is nice and clean. I had a bacon and egg roll. The menu was a bit hard to work out when just wanting a bacon and egg roll but we all worked it out in the end. Coffee was nice and hot and was quite nice. Definitely stop for a meal when you’re there during 5he day.

This is a small cafe that make’s sandwich, paninis, teas, cakes etc. Reasonably priced considering it’s open season against tourists. There is seating outside as well as in and open areas closer to the harbour. Yes one member of staff can be grumpy and gruff but on the whole it’s a nice little cafe!!

I think this is probably the only time I have ever given a single star review and that is due to the terrible service. We arrived at 1115hrs and sat outside before going in to order coffee as there was no table service. We were then told "there's no milk" (it was NOT busy). As we didn't want black coffee, we said we didn't mind waiting and after about 5 minutes one coffee was grudgingly slapped down on the (dirty) table (there were 3 of us) We then waited more than 5 more minutes for the other two drinks which were also slapped down. The waiter didn't check which of us had ordered the coffee and which was the hot chocolate - we had to take the lid off to work it out. When my hot chocolate arrived, it was tepid. When this was mentioned, it was huffily thrown away while they made a fresh one. When my partner asked for a cloth to wipe the table as it was very dirty he was just stared at. Once my (now hot) hot chocolate was brought to the table, the young man then said "can youse pay now?".I've never experienced anything like it....

This place is terrible. With a prime location and presumably a hight monthly rent, I don't understand how a place like this cannot afford to be slightly more environmentally friendly. The use of plastic in this place is appalling. From plastic forks, knives and straws on disposable single use orange juice cartons, to horrible styrofoam boxes for your food and endless single use individually wrapped brown sauce sachets, this place has it all. Food is not great either, sausages likely 90% fat. Avoid this place...
