We had just parked and were looking for something light for lunch. We saw the bakery and the massive queue so knew it had to be something special. We walked around a little, nipped to the loo and went to queue.

The donuts are next level soft, HUGE, flavourful with so many choices filled or ring. There were other cakes too, tray bakes, cupcakes. Fresh rolls, filled or unfilled, loaves of fresh bread. Sandwiches, sausage rolls, cheese and bacon pastry wrap.

I expected a BILL.. 😂 3 sausage rolls, which were big and delicious, flakey pastry. 1 bacon and cheese wrap, delicious, flakey pastry. 3 donuts too. £21!

I had to double check she had added everything on. Unfortunately they have forever ruined donuts for me 😭😂 they were light and fluffy, not greasy at all.

I’m sure there was inside seating but we sat outside, there was a few large picnic bench...

Was not able to purchase anything because the line and service moved too slow. I got in the line 20 minutes before my bus was set to arrive, but it took 20 minutes and I still wasn’t at the counter. They would take one order at a time, usually people buying loads of baked items. It was either wait 5 more minutes or miss my bus. I wasn’t going to miss my bus. Really wish they could just offer a quicker takeaway and a seperate line to handle longer orders for faster service. The lady in front of me ordered 20 rolls, 3 donuts and a drink. I just wanted one donut. Very popular spot and the baked items look great. Clearly a spot to plan ahead, although it being right at the bus terminal. A little bit of expediency...

The place is packed out the door and for good reason. The cakes all look brilliant in the glass counter, the bread smells delicious. I went at lunch time and early and was busy both times. The rolls are probably the best rolls I've ever eaten, the custard and winter/cinnamon doughnuts are amazing, wonderful texture, great flavours and on the large side. But the star of that little bakery in my opinion is the Custard Danish! It's 100% the best thing to grace my lips, wonderful texture and the custard is amazing, 10/10 I will definitely be back. Also the lady behind the counter was very nice and the service was...

this review is 4 months late but i still think of this bakery every now and then. Situated in the middle of what i would call the town square, fresh bakes are available bright and early. Prices were really decent as well. During our 3 day stay in Portree, we visited the bakery twice for the simple breakfast rolls to fuel our road trips!!! but the highlight for us was the lemon drizzle…ahh what i would give to taste that again…Staff were really lovely as well. sending love from singapore!

MacKenzie’s Bakery offers a wealth of sweet and savory pastries as well as breads. The selection is enormous and the variety overwhelming. Don’t be surprised by the long line outside the bakery, and don’t let it discourage you. The short wait is absolutely worth it. The delicacies taste excellent. Incredibly, the prices are very family-friendly. Nowhere else can you get such quality for such a good price. Four fully loaded donuts cost us 12 pounds. We even went back two days in a row.

I could have bought the whole shop. Everything was delicious. We went back twice in one day. everything is freshly made that morning. We got breakfast bacon & sausage rolls. For lunch we got fill rolls & salads for lunch. We also tried the biscuits, there are so tender. Empire biscuits are the best I've ever had. Million dollar slice is also great. the raspberry tarts were our favorite, but the mango passion fruit tart came in a close second. Go early, because they sell out quickly.
