Great place to come for food or drink day or night. I would recommend night though as it is quite beautiful with a sense of being outside but well sheltered. The layout of the cobble underfoot really accommodates that feeling and the lighting feels like you are under stars. Perfect if you are looking to impress a date. There is a wide selection of places dine and drink within the venue that will satisfy any palate.

They also seem too have a market on during the day with a lot of stuff that had been made locally on sale, something that you would find generally somewhere like the westend. For the life of me I can't remember which day. Check out the venue site it should say there, it really is...

I love the craft fair in Merchant Square! It's on every weekend and is indoors so whatever the weather, you can have a good browse without worrying about getting wet/blown away/cold. Surrounded by fab places to eat and drink, it's the perfect relaxing Sunday treat. The stalls are varied and often change with different sellers but lots of regulars too. You can find some amazing and very reasonable gifts or treats from cakes to jewellery or artwork and soaps. I love having a wander around what's on offer!

(I used to sell my own photos there a few years ago and everyone there is so genuinely friendly!) I've written about it in a lot more detail on my blog -...

Lovely dining venue/ food court in Glasgow if you are ever between George Square and Old High Street. The food range from breakfast to steaks so everything in between is a go. Well kept and some days they have special events in the centre of the complex. Ranging from Book stalls to paintings and crafts. No live music but on special occasions I have seen artists performing. At Christmas time its extra special though. Bookings are essential as the Scots love a night out with family and they most certainly will give Merchant Square a call as they have some family friendly bars/pubs (meaning kids are allowed in a section of the fully...

Lovely night out in the Merchant city. Sets a nice atmosphere, clean and cosy. We dined in Steak, Cattle and Roll which is a fantastic restaurant.the food is first class, filling, delicious and the service is just as great. They bend over backwards to make sure we had an enjoyable night , and enjoyed ourselves. The are very knowledgeable in the enjoyable evening . We return all the time and will continue too in the future. Cannot recommend any higher. This little treasure within the merchant city is an absolute MUST VISIT!!!!

Came here over the Christmas period when the market was on and as the city is so big there were two different ones but the music was nice and loud and they had themselves a great atmosphere! As this was Glasgow of course it was raining but this didn’t stop us! We got to see all the Christmas lights and the market and it was just a whole other experience and it was something I would always do whenever we go up to Glasgow.

Merchant Square is really an interesting place to dine in. There are many restaurants under one roof. We visited two to three different restaurants over 2 days as some of them were not opened on certain days due to COVID restrictions. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. We enjoyed the variety of food served at these restaurants. One of it was at Franell where we had Asian food for lunch. You should try too.
