Regular price for this Double room was approx £40 if not cheeper most of the year. Due to PINK having her consert this weekend same room price £125!!!!!! REALLY.Room really basic, windows open to brick tunnel! where noise from street and bar at night can entertain you in your room but stops 12ish however you then are woken to noise from the industrial tubes outside the window if you leave windows open as room has NO aircon. Aircon I feel is a must now for basic Hotels as room warm with no heating on and a little nice weather for our stay. Bathroom- has a bath so narrow when taking shower..... plastic curtain sticks to you!. Taking a bath you can look up at the rusty shower curtain rail, damaged tiles and bath, but the room has a toilet so near the sink you can bend your head into it when on the toilet if needed! Mirrow has a light with such a low watt it lights up nothing!TV small portableRoom worth £40 if coming to Glasgow 2 star hotel in good location with pleasant reception staff. My advice book early if you can as cancellation is usually free. As if any consert dates are released in Glasgow the manager takes full advantage of this. We were not going to the PINK consert this weekend it happen to be same date as an urgent family event.Last thing, when booking on line, photos may not match room you think you are booking, double check your email. But you can not do anything if it is a day the have removed free cancellation but it will stop the disappointment...
Read moreI've been a regular guest at the Brunswick Hotel for the past year on my work travels, and each visit consistently exceeds my expectations. Having travelled to Glasgow weekly for 2 years, I have tried every possible form of accommodation, including hotels and AirBnB's, and the Brunswick is, in my opinion, the best place to stay if you want to find the optimal balance between comfort, affordability and centrality of location.
The rooms, including the standard rooms, are generously spacious for the price, with roomy en suites and luxurious showers. The rooms are impeccably clean, the beds are comfy and included are several really useful amenities: a desk, hairdryer, iron, and tea/coffee making facilities. Further, the staff go out of their way to make guests feel welcome and have numerous times extended me real kindness; this atmosphere seems a consequence of the hotel being a family-owned business.
The staff's attentiveness and the overall ambiance of the Brunswick Hotel make it an ideal choice for anyone looking for comfort, luxury, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere in Glasgow. I highly recommend it to both business travellers and tourists, and would have given it more...
Read moreThe hotel is in an excellent position, very close to the train station and shopping areas, restaurants etc. It is very clearly undergoing upgrading and the room we were in was spotless and bed was very comfy. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The down sides - the bar next door playing very loud music till midnight midweek. We were offered earplugs.( I wonder if the rest of the rooms were the same?) Travelling and booking with a 9yo child I would have thought a quiet room would have been a given? We also did not have a view at all..noisy extactor pipes from elsewhere in the building, see photos..the room was also very stuffy and the fan provided much needed air.. the windows do open but the pigeon mess and noise made it nearly impossible to keep them open. On booking out the receptionist said we should have been offered another room. In short ok for a couple of nights but not ideal if you need an early night. We didn't eat next door you do get a 10%discount in the bar. Breakfast is...
