Booked a table here based on reviews I’d seen here and Facebook and wish I hadn’t bothered. I’ll mention I’m part of the group of four men mentioned in Si Mondos review already. I asked for my chicken burger without chips and with salad instead. I was charged £2.95 for it, didn’t receive the salad and got the chips anyway. I asked for bacon and cheese on my burger, i knew there was a charge for this but never received the bacon but the charge was there for both too. Other half asked for no chips with the steak and more veg instead. Again charged £2.95 for it and never got it but the chips anyway. We waited over an hour and a quarter for our food from ordering and were so hungry we ate what we were given and never challenged the fact it was wrong, also cause the tables around had waited as long as us and we didn’t want to slow them getting food if they had to correct ours. To be honest all the food was very poor to mediocre in quality as well and none of us could say we were impressed with what we ate. Even more stupidly we never checked the receipt until that evening back at our lodge and we’re stunned by the charges for things we never received and the fact they were charging for substitutions. I have never had this before when I’m taking something off a dish to be charged for the replacement item. Quite frankly I feel absolutely ripped off and I would recommend going to anywhere but this place in Callander. If it weren’t for the fact we have to leave 3 hours before they open Today would be going in to challenge them in person. Go...
Read moreThe Riverside Inn advertised itself as dog friendly. And they weren't kidding. Every second table had a dog under it. Our polite and friendly waiter couldn't have been nicer. He brought our dog a chew and provided a good efficient lunch service. The place itself is a little ragged around the edges but I didn't mind. They serve Scheihallion so all is forgiven. We tried the burgers. Great big seeded rolls arrived with well cooked chunky chips and big onion rings. Not particularly fine dining you understand but plentiful and more than edible. Just what we were looking for after a walk up to the Scout Pool and Bracklinn Falls. We did not require any dinner that night. People can't get enough of Malky McEwan, bestselling author. Read moreThe waitress told us we would have a little wait for food, an hour and 20 mins later is when the food actually arrived. On being given the menu after 15 mins, and ordering steak pie, we were advised there was no steak pie, then we asked for irn bru, this wasn't available either. We had to ask for second drink while we waited, food arrived, I asked for mayo and tomato sauce was given instead. Dead wasps on the window ledge that need to be cleaned. A party of 3 arrived and were told it would be 90 mins for food, after sitting down, they were then told it was drinks only, so they had to then leave as they want d food. Family of 5 behind us with 3 young kids were left sitting also as well as a group of 4 men, who were all experiencing the same difficulties. This review is no reflection on the staff, however we will...
