A random lunch choice in Glasgow that was very successful! This building has tons of character and I was glad my husband and I were seated in the upstairs with a nice view of below and the street. It was pretty busy so a little noisy at times but reasonable. We had Irn Bru (why do we not have this in Canada?!) and I had pizza while my husband had pasta. The pizza was large in size but with the thin crust it was actually perfect for a lunch and not too heavy. Mine had arugula, prosciutto, and parmesan. It was sooooo good. Wouldn't change a thing. My husband was very happy with the portion and flavors of his pasta. We sadly had no room for dessert! Our server was lovely and very attentive and fun. Wish I remembered her name. We got some great suggestions for places to visit in Glasgow after lunch thanks to her!

Dropped into Old Salty’s on Byres Road for a Saturday morning treat, and I’m so glad I did! The Full Scottish breakfast was fantastic—great value for the price and beautifully presented. I also tried their hot chocolate with oat milk, which was surprisingly delicious. The real standout, though, was the service. Julie, who served us, had the biggest, most contagious smile that really made our day. In fact, every member of staff we met was warm, friendly, and ready to help. We did have a funny little hiccup when we mistook the salt shaker for a grinder, but the staff were quick to sort it out, and we all had a good laugh. This is a wonderful spot for a cozy Scottish breakfast, made even better by the lovely team who work there. I’ll definitely be going back soon!

The interior is really warm, nice and cozy, sitting on entresol was comfortable , not like usually when it's too warm . Service nice and friendly. Obly problem was food, we ordered Scottish breakfast and Benedict eggs and not only I took like 25 minutes with basically empty restaurant to get our food, the worse were eggs. When you order Benedict eggs on muffins you expect they will be running cause thats what you want, not overcooked and dry, the same with my egss on Scottish breakfast. Muffin roll was dry and bacon like gummy bears. My Scottish breakfast was ok expect egss, no the best ingredients but not the worse too. So I would give like 3 foot food. But like I mention interior is really nice , if you want to grab a drink or two, I recommend;)

We had a Fathers Day lunch booked here which we were really looking forward to. We were greeted by some very friendly staff and shown to our table. 15 minutes later our drinks order was taken and then the drinks were brought about 10 minutes later. Our waitress left without taking our food order, so when 40 minutes had went passed since we arrived with no food order taken, I had to go looking for someone. We had a child with us but no kids menu was offered so we just ordered from the main menu for him. When our food finally arrived it was tasty, we ordered the kebabs which were lovely but luke warm. Our son had asked for a plain chicken burger but it arrived with everything on it. By the time our food arrived we only a short amount of time to eat as we had another engagement so the whole thing was rushed because our food order wasn't taken for so long. On top of that my husband ordered a second drink which we were billed for but he never received it. Thank goodness I checked the bill before I paid. On the whole it is a lovely wee place but I dont know what happened that day. I felt as if the waitress was annoyed at me but the events which happened were not my fault. One of the other waitresses did apologies for our wait when we were leaving which was nice but really it should have been the waitress serving us. This was our first visit here and it did not leave us with a good impression...

I am leaving a negative review despite the actual food being of good quality. The restaurant charged us for items we did not have and having messaged them several times on Facebook and phoned them with no answer I cannot recommend this restaurant. Perhaps it was an error by the server but based on them completely ignoring me I can’t determine this, if they adding an item or two onto every customer that’s easily enough for a full table or two a night.

We booked a table at 6pm for 3 and arrived, we were then put on a table for 6, we asked if there was confusion about us arriving at 6 and offered to move and were told don’t worry about it, several minutes later a table of 6 were crammed into a table of 4 next to us and were all quite unhappy and moaning the entire time. We ordered the stuf, 2 macaronis and a burger and then ten minutes later the server came back to us asking us to confirm we’d ordered a steak pie and we said no.

The place itself is nice and clearly popular with locals as its busy inside however they do takeaways as well who all block the entrance to the tables and don’t have a system to separate the dine ins and takeaways.

If you fancy items on the menu you will have a good meal but absolutely check the bill before paying or else you could be ripped...

Tremendously overrated, bagged salad, slow service and selective seating. Some guests waited for 10 minutes before leaving, others sit outside and are forgotten, thosed deemed 'the right sort' by the hostess are seated immediately.

I was seated on a stool by the door, for a continuous crowd of wet and soon to be dissapointed punters to brush past me. I honestly feel discriminated against and I regret not leaving at that point.

I finished my food as quickly as possible and then had to get up and chase one of the servers to pay, complete joke. She was far more accomodating to another set of lads who came in as I was leaving, even asking if they were sure they didn't want to sit upstairs (at the actual tables).

The macaroni pie is a nice novelty if you're visting and the fish was cooked well but the chips are bland and most of the menu is psuedo-italian food.

Overall this place is not worth the trip and I regret not asking for the gratuity to be removed. It seems that there are other reviews that also mention racism which speaks to the intelligence of...
