Extremely disappointed with this restaurant, avoid. At 18:05 we ordered food from Pickled Ginger Glasgow saying that it would take between 25-40 minutes to be delivered. At 19:00 we still hadn't received any food, so we called the restaurant. They mentioned the food had been made, but not picked up yet. So we decided to wait. -At 19:30 we call again and we speak to a different person at the restaurant. We ask if the food is already picked up. At this point the employer is not able to confirm nor deny if the food has been prepared, nor where it is. After asking more about it, he eventually says that the driver has picked it up and is on its way. -At 20:00, this is now two hours after ordering the food and 1,5 your longer then promised upon ordering, we still don't have food. We call again, and the guy is once again not able to confirm nor deny what has happened with our food. After explaining my dissatisfaction with the restaurant they say they can't even give a refund and that it has to go through JustEat and that once we get in touch with you a refund will be issued.
We leave it at that and provide ourselves with other food. At 21:29 a driver shows up with our food that we have ordered at 18:05. We refuse the food since its nearly 4 hours and at this point we must assume that the food has already been prepared for hours as well. The driver tells us that he is unable to leave, until we accept the food. We refuse once again cause having food arrive after this amount of time is simply ridiculous. He says again he can't leave nor get paid until we accept. He says that if we accept it, we can still get a refund and he gets paid. So we accept against our wishes.
The food was obviously cold and we haven't eaten it. If Pickled Ginger wishes, they can come and collect it.
We have since been in touch with Pickled Ginger and JustEat, and neither are giving any customer service nor a...

Ordered a char siu dong, but it was completely inauthentic. The char siu was overly thick, had a strong pork odor, and tasted like braised pork sauce. Is this really Japanese cuisine?
Hygiene Issue: Found a hair in the rice. When we called the server, there was no apology—they just took the dish away. The owner didn’t bother to apologize or check on us. A new portion was served, but the server only gave a half-hearted "sorry" with no further follow-up.
Poor Quality Sushi and Tempura: The mixed sushi platter and tempura platter had more vegetables than meat. The tempura was greasy and underwhelming, with only 1 shrimp and 2 crab sticks. The sushi (salmon, tuna, and shrimp) was not fresh.
The only somewhat decent dish was the duck ramen, but even that was just average. The noodles tasted like instant ramen.
Terrible Service: At checkout, we requested to remove the service fee since it wasn’t mentioned anywhere (including the menu) that a service fee applies for groups of 3 or more. The manager/owner only cancelled the service fee after we mentioned the hair incident, but there was no apology or further compensation. The owner was nearby and heard everything but did nothing.
Avoid this place! Poor hygiene, terrible service, and subpar food quality. Not worth your...
Read moreOverall I had an awful first time experonce tonight. I ordered pork karaage which tasted disgusting. It was also extremely over priced. You charge £7 for pork karaage and you give 4 pieces that are about the same size as a peanut. I can go to yo sushi and get the same thing except you get 8 pieces and it tastes amazing. I then moved onto my salmon skin sushi which was also very very disappointing. It had loads of bones in it which I wasn't happy about as I've ordered from other places and not had that. It also had a long dark hair in it which I can assure you was not mine as I have red hair. My partner got the pumpkin katsu bento box which for some strange reason had cheese all over it and the sauce tasted like vingear, it was vile. To top it off the order didn't even come on time. Anyone who says that Pickled Ginger is a good place to eat clearly has never tried authentic and tasty Japanese food before. Wouldnt recommend At ALL. I'm more likely to recommend ichiban which is also in central, don't waste your...
