Snaffle Bit — Restaurant in Scotland

I live nearby and have been to the snaffle bit quite a few times. Usually my flat mates and I have a great experience as the staff have been nice and the prices are good. However on Tuesday evening, a group of 6 of us were met with extremely poor service. We were told that it was “rude” to use the companies electricity and heating if we weren’t buying any drinks. We had 4 drinks on the table already and 2 of the group had planned on not drinking that evening. I can understand this if the pub was packed and people were getting turned away at the door for lack of seats but there were many free tables. She was extremely unwelcoming and was heard sneering and laughing at us with other customers from behind the bar.

Had she not said this she would have realised we were waiting on around 10 more people coming who would have given her business all evening. Instead we left and will feel hesitant to return again. We were disappointed and surprised at this rude staff member as we are normally welcomed by w friendly faces at this pub. I hope this doesn’t happen to...

Was in Glasgow for the first time the other Saturday and found the Snaffle Bit, a proper local pub with great atmosphere. Went in the afternoon and it was so good went back in the evening after dinner. Sat with the locals chatting and watching the snooker and generally just having a good laugh.

Also the Guinness in this pub is nothing short of 10/10, a blinder of a pint. Can only respect a proper barman who puts care and...

Good wee place to have a few drams. Beer selection is good, along with the spirits. Local traditional band playing good Scottish music on a Monday, a bit longer than probably needed for those that like pool. Iona is a good laugh with great people skills.
