I live nearby and have been to the snaffle bit quite a few times. Usually my flat mates and I have a great experience as the staff have been nice and the prices are good. However on Tuesday evening, a group of 6 of us were met with extremely poor service. We were told that it was “rude” to use the companies electricity and heating if we weren’t buying any drinks. We had 4 drinks on the table already and 2 of the group had planned on not drinking that evening. I can understand this if the pub was packed and people were getting turned away at the door for lack of seats but there were many free tables. She was extremely unwelcoming and was heard sneering and laughing at us with other customers from behind the bar.
Had she not said this she would have realised we were waiting on around 10 more people coming who would have given her business all evening. Instead we left and will feel hesitant to return again.
