I don't normally write reviews, but in this case I've had to make an exception. Starting with ambiance/environment, plenty of seating available. Seated upstairs, it was quiet and comfy. Each area has its own TV screen so you can enjoy whatever you fancy. Drinks were super cheap; as low as 3.30£ for some ales. Food was cheap too. We thoroughly enjoyed the mix and share - 5 dishes for 23.5£. Food was incredible. Hot, well-cooked and the flavours were on point. Prawns were bland but that's to be expected. Shout-out to the waitress serving us. Didn't get her name but she was a young, brunette Scottish girl (I've had to change it from blond to brunette after I conferred with my mates, I was too lost in her pretty eyes to notice, apologies!!). She was absolutely fantastic. Asked us several times whether we were okay, enjoying the food, and cleared the empty plates promptly. She was very kind, polite and had a lovely smile. Seriously she deserves a bonus or something. 10/10 experience.

Nipped in for some food as was passing by, quite empty for the time of day (12:30pm) so there were plenty of tables available. Ordered drinks and food through the Greene King App & service was very quick. Drinks came within 5 minutes of ordering & food was probably 15. Good portion sizes for the price & everything was cooked properly (Not burnt or undercooked). We had the Katsu Chicken Burger and the Fish & Chips, would recommend both! The waitress was polite but efficient (Sorry, didn't catch a name!) and had amazing timing when asking if everything was ok etc. Not a local, but would return if in the area again! Only disappointed is that the menu is smaller than my local (Nottinghamshire) and there wasn't as much choice but nevertheless there's still a good selection 😊

Starting with the good: The service is great and everyone is very friendly. We ordered fish and chips, and steak pie. The fish was great, nice and flaky with crispy batter. The tartar sauce is tasty, too. The chips were excellent! Now, on to the not so great. The steak pie was unfortunately quite bad (and quite small). The steak was way overdone and mushy. The puff pastry was hard and just not edible. Both of us had garden peas with our meal and they were cold. This was probably connected to the cold plates/service dishes. We did let staff know and they very kindly replaced the steak pie with fish and it was much appreciated. Overall, we’d be back for beers, but probably not for food.

We were looking for good pub grub prior to tackling the walk up to the War Memorial. I’d seen the menu and thought it looked good. I was a little apprehensive when we walked in as it was quite noisy and busy; genuinely expected my husband to want to leave, however he declared it as having a good atmosphere so we chose a table and ordered. I chose the pulled mushroom chilli but had it with a jacket potato rather than rice. The food was amazing: generous portions, well cooked and very tasty! I would definitely visit again if we were in Dundee; highly recommended!

Great pub and also has very nice food if you’re hungry. I got the steak pie today half expecting it to be one of the shortcrust pastry ones (that’s what Greene King places have given me in the past). Was pleasantly surprised when a lovely big puff pastry pie came out. Despite having loads of gravy already, it also came with an extra dipping pot of gravy. The food was absolutely fantastic and very filling.
