Emily was so helpful in the planning of our visit, which was a surprise gift for my wife. She was able to email me to avoid spoiling the surprise and even made some initial introductions so I could plan piping lessons in secret!! This was all before we arrived. 😁

On arrival we were greeted by Sam, with a welcome dram and shortbread, absolutely lovely after a long train journey!! He was really friendly and throughout our stay made sure we had everything we needed. Making our breakfast mornings really lovely, nothing was too much trouble. He made it feel a really personal and first class service.

We also met Evie during our stay. She was again really lovely and so helpful. She gave us lots of information about future events coming up, places to visit and where to get more details online. Again, nothing was too much trouble for her.

I must mention the nice lady who was always busy cleaning the rooms. Again, she was always happy to help, refreshing our tea supplies and keeping everywhere immaculate!

These staff members in particular made our short stay at The Tryst Hotel in Glasgow so lovely. I cannot tell you how relaxed you will feel, the minute you step inside. Feels almost like going home every evening 🥰

First class hotel, thank you...

On arrival I received a friendly greeting and a tot of single malt. A great start !!|I went to my room to find that both the radiator and towel rail were turned off. Bearing in mind the temperature was -2 outside it took a while to warm up the room so I poured a bath. Well, the hot tap was a trickle so it took a while to fill it. |I was given the first floor room on the front so noisy revellers immediately below were disturbing. |Why do hotels that aren't busy put all their guests in adjacent rooms. Great for the cleaners but noisy for their guests. |The room was well designed with a tartan theme and the bed was very comfortable. The bed side tables had been poorly covered with fablon ; presumably to cover previous damage. |The breakfast was lovely with everything you might imagine and served with a smile and...

Arrived in the evening around 5:30pm, a warm welcome from staff, and although a shot of whiskey referenced it was not forthcoming.|Room 1 was really small and in need of refurbishment , the walls badly needed painting , the window blind had holes , and the floorboards creaked when walked on, overall the room was grubby and not reflective of the price.|The room was also very noisy as the other guests had to pass room 1 to get to their room.|Bed was comfortable |Breakfast was limited, poor selection of fresh fruit or bread and the chairs in tbe breakfast room very uncomfortable|I would not recommend this hotel , although the location central, the hotel was grubby and the surrounding area also grubby with the view from tbe room atrocious and the view from the restaurant was onto steps which were...

We attended a wedding and reception here with a disabled family member, at first glance it looks as though the only way in is up several stairs but if you ask at the bar you will be taken up by a lift accessed through double doors on the side of the building. Toilets for the disabled are accessible once you are in. The reception room was nicely laid out with chairs for the wedding ceremony and quickly set up for the diners. Tables were beautifully laid and service and food excellent. The staff were happy and very obliging. The building is old and that is part of its charm so be prepared that access for the disabled is through the service areas and will take a little longer than a new building. However the staff will be very happy to help you. A very enjoyable visit. Excellent food, bar and a small museum.

Staff are really helpful and friendly. I contacted the hotel prior to travelling as my train may have been late arriving into Glasgow. On finding the hotel there was a note on the door for me to phone a member of staff. Within seconds I was welcomed in ( they close the restaurant after a certain time on a Sunday ). I was offered a whisky which I gladly accepted and drank. The room was perfect and I had one of the best sleeps in any hotel. Breakfast the next morning was tasty and wholesome. I shall return to stay again at some point.

We had to rebook this a few times due to virus. We attended on Sat. The restaurant was empty apart from us. The meal was superb we had soft drinks inside and our wine outside where there were 4 takes. The only problem I would like to make is that the outside area could have been at least swept and and removal of cigarette butt's there was also spillage from the night before. The restaurant is worth a visit.
