Tasty, but inconsistent. I have visited twice and both times ordered a square sausage and egg roll. The first time I ordered it was amazing, there was two thick slices of sausage on a soft roll and the egg was perfect. The second time I made the same order, I received one thinly sliced square sausage on tough bread. When biting through the first few mouthfuls which were mostly tough bread, I had an eggsplosion which covered me top and bottom in yolk. A napkin would have been a welcome addition to my order! After visiting a local cafe and being let down on both food and service today we instead opted for the waterfront takeaway. Can not recommend this place more. I had a cheese burger with onions and salad my partner had a bacon and egg roll with tattie scone. We shared cheesy chips and a bottle of Fanta. The whole thing cost just over £12 less than I would have paid in the cafe for burger and chips. Everything was freshly cooked and hot. The chips were the best we've had in a long time. Used to love this cafe. They made the best salad rolls in Dumfries, however they have gone downhill. Everytime we have tried to phone in an order so we don't need to stand outside in the rain the phone is ignored. The waiting time is long with people who arrive after ypu receiving their order first. Half the time you can order the food which is on the menu as they don't have it in. Then when ypu eventually recieve your order the rolls are substandard compared to what the used to be.
