The meal was delicious. I found the music very loud, and it was difficult to talk to people next to me. I went with a group of friends, and we wanted to pay for our own drinks, but we were told we had to add them to a tab. This was really off-putting from the start. My friend, who booked the table and paid the deposit for the Christmas menu, did ask initially if we put drinks on a tab, would it come out of her account as they had her bank details from the deposit payment. She was told it would. Another friend discussed things with a lovely waitress and it was agreed that she would go round each person, we didnt mind the extra wait, and they would order and pay for their drinks individually. We ordered 2 drinks at a time or ordered by the bottle to keep us going during the wait. I personally ordered 2 drinks and waited for the waitress to return to charge me but never did. As the evening progressed and food was served I forgot to flag the waitress down to tell her I hadn't paid yet. The evening progressed and I decided to leave after my meal, which I couldn't fault, but I wasn't able to deal with the noise and trying to chat to friends. I found out in the morning that when the last 3 or 4 of my friends were leaving, they were hit with a huge bill of over £100! My friends did not have this money on them and the manager proceeded to be quite abusive towards my friends. I was at fault for forgetting to flag down a waitress to ask her to charge me, but given that my 2 drinks totalled £14 (yes, for only 2 drinks!! Cocktails are EXPENSIVE here) how many others were not returned to to be prompted to pay? Yes we should have flagged someone down, but realistically, this is a party of friends, consuming copious amounts of alcohol and enjoying themselves. People get drunk, they are distracted by food, loud music and the company of their friends. We thought we had established how payment was being made, the onus, in my opinion, baring in mind we specifically did not want a tab for this reason, was on the staff to return and ask for payment at the time. Very disappointed that the situation overall. We did offer to go to the bar individually initially but were told we were not allowed. At the end of the night when my friend who made the booking, phoned up and paid the bill, my friends who were not permitted to leave to go get cash to pay, we're not given an itemised bill. Another friend has since requested this and recieved it so we can pay our friend who booked, but this whole situation was dealt with very unprofessionally. I was talking about revisiting with my husband for the lovely food but won't be now. The attitude of the manager was disgusting. I think as an owner of an establishment that makes a profit from people getting drunk on ridiculously expensive cocktails, there should be more flexibility on how customers are allowed to pay, and a realisation (or maybe that's their goal) that you lose track of things when inebriated. We asked to order and pay a certain way. This did not happen consistently. My friends were hit with a huge bill they were not expecting. Tempers flared. Management were unprofessional. Won't be back. That's the gist of things. Picture of my ridiculously expensive cocktails.

The Bank Tapas Bar: A Delicious Destination in Dumfries The Bank Tapas Bar in Dumfries is a fantastic spot for anyone seeking a flavorful and enjoyable dining experience. Here's what makes it a must-try: Spacious Comfort: Housed in a two-story building with ample space (perfect for larger groups!), The Bank provides a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. Tapas Delight: Don't be fooled by the name - their tapas portions are surprisingly generous! This is fantastic news for those who want to share and try a variety of dishes. More importantly, the food is incredibly tasty, offering amazing value for money. Cocktail Connoisseurs: Complement your meal with one of their extensive cocktail options. They're sure to have something to tantalize your taste buds. Dumfries Delight: Whether you're a local or just passing through, The Bank Tapas Bar is a true gem. The combination of delicious food, spacious setting, and enticing cocktails makes it a must-visit in Dumfries.

Our original dinner choice was having a pop up and not serving their normal food, and our backup was closed on a night they showed they would be open so we ended up at The Bank. I really like the way they do the menu. Tapas are always fun. The cocktail I had was phenomenal. The service was ok. The food was ok. The best thing were the ribs my husband ordered — tangy with a hint of crispness around the edges. The street corn could have been fabulous (the flavor was good), but they either used frozen corn or boiled it forever because it was soggy. The panko cauliflower was tasty but also a little on the soggy side. I think this would be better to serve with the sauce as a dip to keep it fresh and crunchy. The sweet and sour pork was great.

Went out for sisters birthday dinner, got our mains and they tasted good, would have been a good review if we'd have left right after dinner. Comes to desert, 1 out of 5 of us ordered peppermint mousse, 2 raspberry cheesecakes, 1 blondie and I got the churros, the peppermint mousse comes first; all looks good. Blondie and cheesecakes come next, all "garnished," with aero crumbs, odd choice. My partner and the rest of us at the table don’t like peppermint - we didn't ask for peppermint, it was on every desert? If it's not on the menu and wasn't asked for, don’t add it. If you're unsure, your waitress should ask, don't assume. I work in the hospitality industry and if we ever forget to ask, we're sent to ask. We asked if there's anyway to get new deserts as hadn't asked for the aero crumbs. Got new cheesecakes and churros, my partner has anxiety and didn't feel comfortable complaining so she sucked it up, my churros come and i flip them over, not fresh, melted aero on the other side, obviously just been moved to another plate, if they hadn't done the oddly paired, unasked for garnish there wouldn't have been an issue. Can’t say I'm pleased, the waitress we had dealt with it professionally and was great all night, hats off to her. I know it won't make much of a difference but I was left with a bitter taste in my mouth but I'm aware this might have just been a bad night for the kitchen, I would probably give this place another chance bc I can’t base a restaurant off of...
