It's great to walk out to the end of the pier - good exercise but would I describe the pavilion as a destination? Not really. The combination of council apathy - the pier end environment needs a cohesive plan and not the muddle it is now and a lacklustre offering within the pavilion itself (I feel sorry for any staff whom have to hear that 20 seconds of music loop all shift). This location lends itself to a decent cafe/bar/event destination, without those 'entertainment' machines, which are so 1950's (and before).

This place has so much potential but just isn't being used. The old arcade machines are great and spent a lot of time on them. The cafè there is ok and serves bottled beers and wine but it's just lacking somewhat. There are small stalls in there selling bits and bobs which makes you think you've walked into a village fete and I just don't get why they are there. Quite obvious that the Lottery funding has made the place try to please pretty much every demographic, but they've just not done a great job of any of it.

A warm welcome and a hot drink was worth the walk along the pier on a cold day. There is a good selection of hot and cold drinks (including alcoholic beverages) at this café. There are some victorian arcades at this pavillion which gove an idea of what to expect from a victorian seaside holiday which were quite interesting. I would visit again.

Thoroughly enjoyed the walk along the pier and the Old penny machines were lots of fun and brought back great memories! The building is fabulous and has amazing views, it's also a great place to heat up after being blown along! If you're not up to the walk, there is a great little train to take you there and back. However, I think the cafe was a bit disappointing, it could do with a greater selection of dishes, perhaps baked potatoes or tasty soup! The coffee wasn't brilliant either and the staff seemed disinterested. Maybe we just got them...

We had a great morning at the pier pavilion today, I brought my four year old there to meet some friends, we had a lovely time playing the penny arcade games especially the fruit race machine that all three of them could play together(they had great fun playing it).We all enjoyed a coffee/soft drink together and although we gave the young lady at the counter a bit of a nightmare with kids changing their minds she looked after us with good humour and a smile on her face. It’s a clean, warm and friendly establishment and well...

It was a nice experience for the little one to walk down the pier and a good little trip down memory lane for me.

The cafe at the bottom is a nice little rest spot for a coffee in both good and bad weather but the penny arcade is a bit if a let down.

The same 5 machines spread about all over the place with regular arcade machines, albeit extremely old, dotted around the place charging £1 a go.

A real kiddie honey pot and the little one was super disappointed when the penny arcade coins where useless for 50% of...
