The NEW Southport Tavern — Restaurant in Sefton

Steve the new owner was an absolute gem and helped us out with a venue last minute, when our original one had fallen through!

It was for a christening of around 35/40 adults and 10 kids and they were so accommodating throughout. They gave us pretty much a private room (it is open plan to the bar but with the walls it feels really secluded and away from the general public) And let us in the night before to set up and store the cake and fridge bits. We were then able to keep the cake there again till today along with all the balloons.

The day itself was perfect! Friendly bar staff and absolutely no issues. Everyone kept commenting on how lovely the venue was.

Steve has completely turned the bar around. Brilliant family friendly atmosphere! I’ve promised I will be back for their Friday night karaoke and possibly even a quiz night or 2 also! My wife and I decided to take the long drive here after visiting Dover. There was little choice in Dover so we decided to visit Southport. We found the tavern and decided to stop for lunch. As we arrived, a couple of the locals volunteered helpful directions and we were off to a pleasant start. We started with a drink (stubby of Cascade export stout @ $6.50 each). We ordered lunch at the same time and it arrived within a short time. I ordered lamb shank & veges ($24) and my wife had crumbed flathead, chips & salad ($20). Had my 30th Birthday here at the beginning of March. The room hire was free. Steve and the staff were amazing! The service was great. Steve was very helpful with the booking and preperations. Thank you to the whole team for making my birthday celebrations so special! I always come to this pub when I'm out and about. Great place to watch football as well, and perfect for a pre match pint when we go to the game. The train times are up on display which is very helpful.
