The Whistle Stop — Restaurant in Sefton

Poor. Table service but only when they can be bothered. After waiting five minutes for the waiter, went to the counter to try and speed up ordering but was told to sit back down and wait. The "waiter" then decided to take the order from the people who had arrived 5 minutes after us. Don't know how long the owner thinks people want to wait for a breakfast, didn't hang around any longer to find out. Would only recommend if you don't mind waiting for poor service. Update.....went again this morning, service was still painfully slow. Clearly needed more staff. ANOTHER update.... Gave them another go today as food is very good. Once again, woefully slow service, 40 minutes at least. Saw a couple of other customers kick off about the wait. I think the worst thing is that they don't tell people it will be 40 minutes before their food arrives. I guess I was expecting the wait it so wasn't THAT bothered but still...

WORKING HARD TO BE SLATED ! Once gd customers of this establishment as said in n my previous review the food from this place is top notch !! I had a little to say about the service in my previous review nothing to bad but upon returning today for some nice food I was sat down by the waiter while sat at my table a member of staff made there self visible and said I ain’t working hard to be slated this was the chef which if they bothered to read the previous review properly I never slated no one even commented on how nice his food was there was more praise then slating hearing this we up and left and unfortunately we will have to not enjoy the nice food that comes out of the...

Whilst leaving Southport today me and my fiancé decided to stop here for a quick bite and a brew before going home, we got to the cafe for ten past nine, placed our order for two mochas, toast for the missus and bacon on toast for me, so not a very large order we waited nearly an hour for the toast.... they did change the toast from brown to white for my missus, as the bread order came in whilst we we're waiting and it was greatly appreciated but nearly an hour wait for four slices of toast that we ended up having to take out and rush down as we raced for the train just isn't on, next time we'll eat in the hotel room...
