Costa Coffee — Restaurant in Sheffield

Hello , I am writing here to let you know the experience me and my family faced at :

Costa Heeley Retail Park Chesterfield Road Sheffield S8 0RG

I went there to enjoy my coffee and family time as usual about 5 PM today ( 4/3/24) I have ordered our usual coffee and food for my 22 months old son. The member of staff who prepared my order told me that if any “stirrer stick fell on floor then pick it up yourself “ I was on phone that time so I have asked her again what she said and she repeated the same thing. Her words was directed towards our son and she was under the impression that 22 months old will throw the stirrer sticks on floor and she made those harsh comments under the prejudice and pre warned me for the act which did not happen by then. I would like to ask following questions here please:

At Costa Coffee , is that’s how you treat customers who have small children with them , with harsh words, prejudice, disrespect and discrimination. Do you pre warn every customer who comes to your coffee shop for their potential behaviour which is justified by your staff’s sole judgement because I have not seen any sign post in your coffee shop regarding that. What is Costa Coffee’s policy about customers with kids? Are kids allowed to be kids and parents can have relaxing time knowing that they will receive the respectful behaviour from your staff ?

Currently I am feeling shaken and discriminated as mother and customer and I hope your complaint department will solve my concerns at your level and I do not need to raise it...

6th October and Costa in Heeley Retail Shops is now re opened. It is looking so much better with lovely comfy seats and more of them. The Decor and lighting are just right. The food and drinks counter has been extended to incorporate all the new and old lines. The Contractors, Stephen the Manager and his lovely staff have worked so so hard to get everything cleaned and tidy ready for today's opening. Learning how to use all the new equipment etc. The range of food has extended to include on the premises fresh baked baguettes with 3 different fillings, pots of Chili Con Carne, a Vegan one of Thai Red Curry and Rice, Mozzerella and Roasted Tomatoes, Pasta Salad Bowl. A Free Range Scrambled Egg Pot, on layer of Baked Beans, Mushrooms and grated cheese why not order toast to put it on plus there are 2 Soups etc. The New York Cheesecake is delicious and for a little extra have it with the Winter Berry Compote. There is Jumbled Berry Cake, Seriously Chocolate Cake and too many delicious ones to mention. The old favourite foods have been retained. New flavours of coffee etc Altogether a really...

Very disappointed by the 'barrista' today. I was repeatedly ignored when I asked to scan the points app, 👌🙃 great start!

The barriasta then proceeded to make the wrong drink which only proved that she wasn't really paying attention to begin with. When I pointed it out, the barrista looked irrate and proceeded to make the worst Iced Americano; served warm, 👍🙈 still going great!

We asked for some milk, as the original order was an Iced Americano with Milk but the barrista could only pour the smallest amount in as she had already filled it to the brim and proceeded to accept it as a passable drink even though it looked the same colour as some of the bogs we'd just walked through in the Peaks. 🤢🧋👏 and great finish

Serious re-training needed here! The drink was awful but I couldn't face going back in the request it remade, I'd lost the will to live by...
