Went here today with friends as all wanted something a bit different. However it's not great. Not so good points 5 of us ordered wanting to all eat together- this didn't happen.some of us had already had our food and eaten it whilst others were still waiting for theirs. 2 of us ordered from the carribean place however this was very disappointing. Firstly 2 of us ordered from here and it took such a long time. After 40 mins we went to counter was told would be 6 mins and both would be done together. We waited 10 mins and 1 of us was given our food. The other they told us would be another 5 minutes (it was actually another 20 mins) One of us paid £26.99 for a meal (we did consider sharing it thinking it would be better for 2 - good job we didn't!) The portions were small. The rice taste burnt. The chicken and beef skewers were cold and chewing and hard. Not Luke warm but cold! The rice had no flavour or spice to it. The dumpling was hard and too chewy. Was not enough 1 person small portion sizes for price. And was definitely not worth the money unfortunately. The QR code you order on could potenitally be a good thing however despite all ordering at same time none of the food was ready at the same time. It also does not allow you to remove items so another member of our party could not remove an item off a burger. The majority of seating is high stools which are hard to sit on for long periods of times and generally no atmosphere (we went on a Saturday night) The food is over priced one of the party paid £14 for loaded fries. There is also 1 way systems and bus gates installed around area so this could be an issue. There is parking but from what I saw had double yellow lines. Not disabled friendly as have to go back and forth to collect food and different place for drinks Place is more like a food market! To top it off you also get charged £1 per order for processing fee... but you have to go and collect it yourself! Good bits Erm.... the staff at the carribean was nice and friendly enough even though we did complain. The jerk chicken seemed OK Friends or family you go with! It's indoors Would i return? No i would not Would i recommend it? Unfortunately not. Overpriced, too long waits, all eat different times, not good for disabled people going up and down stairs to collect food. Stools uncomfortable. Better places in the area or short distance away to eat.

The place is amazing with great decor and a cool vibe with a large variety of food. I ate poutine from "The Gravy Train" while my friends had food from "Edo Sushi" and "Five Rivers". The poutine was delicious and I've eaten their food before elsewhere. The food that my friends had looked equally delicious. When ordering food you have can either order it at the stall or you can order from the app to your table which is pretty nifty. The app however isn't particularly user friendly and when ordering food, it's possible that the order can get rejected. On asking it turned out it was because where we ordered from was too busy which is fair enough, but it would be nice if the stall owners had an option to notify you why they had refused the order. We came on a Saturday evening and it was really busy. It took about 20 minutes to find a table and then it also took a while to get food. In my case it took almost an hour from ordering, "The Gravy Train" is probably the most busy stall out of all of them. If going for the first time I would recommend going on a weekday where i'd imagine it's significantly quieter. I think it would be even cooler if they had some sort of live music occasionally as well but I don't know if they would have the space for that. Also, a better app user experience would help tremendously.

I came down to Cutlery Works with a few friends and that's exactly the group of people I feel was right to come with. First of all we booked in advance and waited for a short time outside while the host got us in, however we did get told to just sit anywhere that's not reserved yet we booked so not quite sure how that one works. It was already bustling at 12.30 but was still a nice social environment, you could easily still chat amongst your friends. When it came to ordering we all used the app, this works well to some extents. It's efficient and stops people queuing at the stalls, however it doesn't like you ordering bits from different vendors at once so you end up making quite a few transactions, on the other hand I can see how this could be an issue trying to make this payment work all in one so no worries! The staff are quick and efficient, in particular the ones who come and clear your glasses/fishes away, these guys never stop! I had a few bits of food from different vendors and all were to a good standard so no flaws there. Drinks are also very good from the two vendors I got them from. Overall a good experience and I would return with friends again, but probably not family of older ages as they wouldn't find it comfortable. (Definitely not the wooden seats!🤣)

We ate at Cutlery Work on the 18th Oct 2024 around 8pm, it wasn't too busy and we managed to get a seat quite easily. The tables are bench style and the seating is quite high so if you are in a wheelchair it might be worthwhile contacting Cutlery Works first so they can arrange suitable seating for you. The Cutlery Work is located outside of the clean air zone but if you're driving there be careful which route you take to it as you may inadvertently enter into the clean air zone. There is parking near the Cutlery Works however all parking is street parking and it can be quite difficult to find a space to park. Cutlery Works is 2 floors, the ground floor is where the food vendors and a bar are located. The first floor is mainly seating, there is another food stall and a bar and, when we were there, there were a few local maker stalls. I think I recall seeing a lift up to the first floor but I'm not 100% sure. Downstairs there was a Greek food stall, a chicken food stall, a pizza food stall, a Japanese food stall, an Indian food stall and a couple of other food stalls but I can't remember what type of food they were selling. I can't recall what food stall was upstairs. I had a chicken gyros and it was delicious, which was priced £8.95. My brother and niece both had a chicken burger, chicken wings and drumsticks, and chips. I think the chicken burger alone was £15. I don't know how much the fries and chicken wings / drumsticks were but they were delicious. All of the chicken was in a KFC style coating. My partner had a woodfire pizza.

Cutlery Works is child friendly, my niece is 7 years old and she loved it.

You can either scan a QR code at the table to view the menus from all of the food stalls and place your order or you can order at the actual food stall itself. The same for the bar. Myself and my brother both ordered at the food stalls, my partner ordered via the QR code. Mine and my brother's food was ready before my partner's.

When the Cutlery Works first opened both floors were full of food stalls but now there is only one floor full of food stalls. I don't know whether the food stalls change on a regular basis as I've only eaten there 3 times since it opened but the experience has got better each...

First the good: the food tasted great and there is a really good variety of options to order

The bad: The heat - on a hot day day (as it was) it was very uncomfortable The music - not quite as loud as a nightclub, so you could mostly hold a conversation, but you really did have to raise your voice more than a comfortable chat The service - this was terrible, ordered food in person, which then took 40 min to arrive (despite the room being half empty); ordered drinks via the 'app' (in reality a website, not an app) and, after a long delay, the wrong drink arrived (ginger ale, not ginger beer) - it was sent back and, after another 10 min we went and asked about it, the replacement was sitting on the side of the bar in the hope that someone might decide to deliver it. Ordered desserts (via the app) - after about 30 min, we checked the website and it stated that there was an 'error', that part of our order was out of stock (so why was it still available to order?), with no details about which parts were out or how to adjust the order, I walked downstairs to order a replacement and waited another 15 min for that to be delivered. Overall, took around 2 hours for the two of us to have a main course, a drink and a dessert. This was on, what looked to us, to be a relatively quiet mid-week evening (the place certainly wasn't packed full).

Overall a nice idea (with some genuinely good food), but it is designed around an app / website ordering system (because if you pick a table, then walk to a vendor and order your food, there's nothing to guarantee that the table you ordered the food to won't have been taken by someone else by the time you get back), which gives little clue as to the status of your order, is not kept up to date with the current stock availability of any items, does not send a popup notification when there is a problem and gives very little hint as to what to do in that case (other than to ignore the app and walk over to the stall to discuss the order).

Maybe something as simple as a table reservation system would allow customers the freedom to get up and order their food, without the worry that they would find their table gone by the time...
