What an amazing experience! We added a night at House of Joro in the New Year after our usual fantastic 5 course taster menu at Joro itself. The rooms are set up like a large luxury flat, an integrated lounge, kitchen and dining room, with comfortable settees, a long dining table to accommodate the Chef's table and a kitchen much better stocked than mine has ever been! 4 doors lead off the main room, each beautifully equipped with free goodies, and all the interesting snacks you could ever want from the honesty bar in the main lounge. Ours was the accessible room, well laid out and outstanding facilities for wheelchair users. The other 3 bedrooms were spectacular, with free standing baths. Excellent value including a complimentary bottle of Nyetimber English sparking (our favourite!) for each room. Service is low key but perfect, everything is provided that you might want, and you are allowed to use the premises as if you are in a more luxurious version of your own home, including every streaming channel you might ever want. We had liaised with Lauren, who manages the House of Toro, a relatively new member of staff, who made sure everything ran smoothly for us in the run up to our visit, and in terms of checking ourselves in to our room using a password. In the morning, it was a delight to finally meet Lauren, who brought us a magnificent breakfast which we ate at the magnificent table, just the two of us. She was exceptionally friendly and welcoming, with just the right amount of interaction for us, as with all the staff we have interacted with over the years at Joro. The food itself was very Joro, carrot, orange and ginger shots, smoked trout with creme fraiche, delicious French soft cheese, smoked meats, yoghurt, with fruit and muesli, with home made treacle bread and Miso banana bread. It was an outstanding experience, and one I can really recommend! Thank you, Lauren and...
Read moreI want to say a massive thank you to the House of Joro and staff for being so accommodating and just bloody brilliant for my and my husbands stay! We booked HoJ for our wedding weekend and used the location on Saturday morning for our bridal/bridesmaid prep
We stopped as a couple on the Thursday night, had exclusive hire of the place for the Friday for 8 people, and stopped as a couple again in the Saturday night.
The facilities were top notch and when we arrived on the Thursday night the place looked fantastic. We booked the king room with the lovely bath which we both took advantage of. All the smellies were lovely and the cookies in the room were a nice touch too. Beds are large and comfy and everything is finished just perfectly.
We had the tasting menu on the Friday night which was 10/10 delicious with clear accommodations made for our gluten free and vegetarian guests. All the girls loved the food and it went down a storm.
The location was the perfect space to get ourselves ready for the wedding day ont he Saturday, with all of my hair and make up suppliers being allowed access to work from the common area space. It worked for such great photos! The facilities are spot on too, every type of tea/coffe you would like and the space came with Milk and chilled water as well. The honesty fridge was filled with alcoholic and non-alcoholic extras to which we also utilised.
We had a delicious breakfast prepared every day for us at a time that was convenient for us, even on the day after our wedding where we were a little worse for wear so breakfast was left outside our room with a fresh pot of coffee.
Massive shout out to Sophie who was an absolute legend throughout the whole stay. Nothing was too much and she really worked to make sure things went smoothly for us at a super stressful time. Thanks Sophie!!!
We’ll 100% be...

On arrival, we were expecting a "hotel-style" establishment, but this was among other flats and buildings in the street. (Which took forever to find.)
On arrival, it was like walking into your friend's flat. Haha! A little smelly too. Seating area and fire to the left, and in the centre, a table and kitchen. I was wondering if this was the right place.
We collected our keys from a key safe and entered the room. It was lovely and so clean and modern, but there was no bath, which we requested, as you can imagine. There was no one here to speak to. There were three other rooms also located in this "apartment".
The welcome of champagne and cookies was very cute and a nice touch!
The bed was INCREDIBLY comfortable, and the cleanliness was immaculate!
The downside is that the walls are so thin! We could hear all the other guests in their rooms and also outside in the living area. We didn’t get much sleep at all. Furthermore, if you wish to have a lay-in, Then don’t book here. The breakfast lady begins outside at 6 a.m. and delivers it to you with a knock on the door at 8 a.m. As we are not morning people, this was very frustrating as we had to leave the breakfast cart in our room while we got some more sleep.
This accommodation is perfect for a group of 8 people who all know each other, as you could use this apartment as you please. I don’t think it is suitable for mixed groups, and it really is too small, noisy, and intimate.
Their website is also very misleading, as you do think you are arriving at a hotel, but it is a ground-floor flat!
Sadly not one to return to, but thank you for your...
