I used to really enjoy miyagis, until yesterday.
We ordered two platters, one of Chicago rolls and one of mamasita rolls. Both dishes have tempura prawns in them which are fried.
When the dish arrived the tempura prawns which are supposed to be freshly made were cold. I questioned this with a waitress who told me no tempura is cold, its always served cold and comes from the fridge. When I asked how something could be fresh fried but cold she told me the resteraunt has been here 8 years its always like this. Having had warm tempura from here before I asked why it could be freshly made but brought out of the fridge to which she scoffed at me and walked away.
I spoke to another member of staff to complain about both the rude level of service and the low quality of the food. After some explanation of the situation, which was consistently interrupted by the waitress, the food was remade for us with a guarantee that it would eb freshly made this time.
Not wanting to seem as though I was taking advantage I requested just the mamasita rolls to be remade. They arrived and the tempura though warmer was still cool, at which point we ate and left as we had been waiting for a resolution to the issue for over half an hour. I left extremely disappointed in a resteraunt that I have often recommended to many friends. I currently feel as though I won't be returning as standards appear to have slipped greatly since they reopened after the pandemic. Overall, i just feel like...
Read moreDON'T GO unless you wish to spend your money on the worst ever service. I went there with my local friends. I am Chinese and I speak Cantonese as well, therefore I understand every single word the staff said. A lady kept walking around to take away empty plates, but what annoyed us was that every time when she wanted to do so, she just said âfinished?â with an extremely impatient tone of voice. It was like we had put her in a very bad mood, but I can swear we didnât do anything wrong at all. After around 45-50 mins here came the most ridiculous part of the story. She told a girl to throw us out because we had been sitting there for a long time (she speak in Mandarin and unfortunately I heard and understood it, and I guess she dares to do so because most of the customers might not understand Mandarin or Cantonese). I really wonder if 50 mins was a long time for 4 people who had ordered 7 dishes when there were still two tables available. Her acts and words literally made us feel so offended. At the beginning I thought maybe she just had a problem with us, but later I found she nearly judge everybody eating there. Is this a kind of culture of this restaurant? I even want to give zero star to the service. Actually I used to order takeout from this restaurant frequently, but due to what I have experienced, I wonât be its customer any longer. All I can say is DO NOT go there if you donât want to be judged by a person...
Read moreRevolving sushi bars generally all come with the satisfyingly speedy sushi satisfaction, from revolving bar, to table to stomach within seconds of sitting down, and the dishes generally are good. But from the moment of walking in, we could see the two chef's working in the middle, which was reassuring as to the freshness.
Indeed, the plates were being added to the belt relatively continuously throughout our stay, they tasted fresh and, more importantly, good. However the variety of plates felt a bit lacking in comparison to other places. Sometimes you might see a few other dishes like pork, crispy beef, katsu or sweet items actually on the conveyor belt.
Water dispenser on the table is also a nice touch from other places, and the particulay small glasses of iced tea served here (as nice as they were made me feel that absence.
After enjoyig (they were good, enjoyed with packets of ginger and wasabi) a handfull of sushi plates the lack of variety from the belt made it feel less exciting and more boring. More noticeable was the absence of items that were meant to be there. Not much fresh tuna, no edamame, no mochi.
Having said that, outside the conveyor, the menu looked full and interesting, with plenty on it. Indeed the fried chicken and ramen was very tasty. So worth a trip for a quick (good fast service) meal, but don't expect quite as much variety on the belt, as some...
