i was absolutely buzzing to try this place, highly recommended from multiple peers. i went for the infamous chicken and fries and was incredibly excited, the wait time was around 10 minutes and the customer service was excellent, the red haired lady on the till was super enthusiastic and was very helpful to my mum when she was picking out her choice of food, although, she recommended the complete wrong thing. my mother was excited for her chilli fries and quite frankly they were completely underwhelming. my mother poised and ready for her expected chilli con carne loaded fries and to her arrival she was met with a sad looking portion of soggy chips with chilli seasoning and a few jalapeños on top, thoroughly disappointed is an understatement. as for my chick n fries, the fries - just like my mothers - were completely soggy, granted we took them away but for such a highly reputable establishment, there packaging should be more innovative to deliver their customers the best experience possible. on the contrary the chicken was superb, tender, juicy with a crispy flavourful coating, i could see the hype. the order came with a plethora of sauces which i was appreciative of but no cutlery to eat your food with if you’re not an animal. to finish on a lighter note. my sister who is an avid foodie, loved the halloumi fries, and described them as ‘banging’. in conclusion, i would return to this institution but in fore sight would sit in and eat to avoid having such...

Cute, quaint cafe with a charming atmosphere that relieves the initial claustrophobia of everything happening in one small room. The chicken is absolutely amazing; it's well seasoned, juicy and cooked to perfection every time. I usually order the chicken and fries with the only acceptable dipping option of hot sauce. The fries remind me so much of my step-dad's, which is okay because we do actually get along really well. Darral, if you're reading this, I couldn't think of a better man suited for my mother than you. My washer's fixed now so thanks for letting me use yours for a little while. It was just the motor brushes, they're 10 years old believe it or not, most of them only last about 4-5 years before they pack in. It's all in a similar light to marriage, isn't it? You and my mum are like the motor brushes in my washing machine. Still going strong after all this time, against any preconceptions and misguided notions that you might fail. A solid meal at Lucky Fox, in a cafe that boasts the aesthetic of a hipster art student's wet dream, with tat on the wall and swinging music dancing through the already buzzing air of the little room, is all analogous to the repair man that came to sort out my washer this morning. That's all it takes to keep things ticking on by happily. Thank you,...

I visited Lucky Fox in Sheffield and I have to say it was a big disappointment. I had a chicken sandwich with BBQ sauce, cheese, and sour cream - it usually also comes with pickles & lettuce but I asked for it without these. I also ordered a serving of fries. I had to wait about 15 minutes but when the food arrived I was extremely excited because they served what I can only describe as a mountain of fries, and I am a HUGE fries lover. However, my excitement was quickly dampened, as I soon realised that every single fry on my plate was soggy and lifeless. It was so bad I had to ask the waitress if this was how it was intended to be served (not sure if this is to their credit or not, but the answer was no). The chicken sandwich was not bad, I mostly enjoyed it; however it’s not something I’d recommend by any means, as one can easily find a better chicken sandwich at several other places and the fries ruined my experience so much that I could not finish the meal. I’ve added two pictures, one depicting the meal as it was served, and the other showing how much I left behind due to not enjoying the experience. This place is all over TikTok, so maybe I just caught them on a bad day, but a bad day it was, and with this being my experience I don’t think I’ll be back to The Lucky Fox...

Heard great things about this place and it was a real disappointment. We had the Katsu burger and the OG Lucky Club burger with a side of chilli salt fries. Both burgers lacked any real seasoning which is odd considering it should have been in the chicken crumb, just both really bland. The chicken itself was in strips so it wouldn't stay in the burger anyway, especially as it wasn't crispy like fried chicken should be so the coating just rubbed off. Fries were also soggy so maybe an oil temperature issue? At least the fries were seasoned well and a good portion size so only 1 portion needed for 2 of us. Nice range of sauces for dipping. Decent range of drinks too. Liked the decor in the place and the staff were nice and friendly. Was also decent pricing for the portions.

The Lucky Fox, halfway along Division Street, is always very busy. This is a good indication of quality. The place is quite small, seating less than thirty. Decor is casual and a bit rustic with a good hint of classic Americana. Reclaimed timber and American signs and art cover the walls, but not too in your face. The food is definitely the star attraction, made fresh to order every day. Most dishes are based around their "famous fried chicken" and they're on to a winner there. Portions are reasonable, prices are fair and the food is as fresh as you could want. The staff are friendly, and the service is quick. If you're along Division Street at lunch time, make sure you check for a free table.
