Went to nando’s today (7th march 2025) after a long week at work (like most people) and a full day of fasting. I’m a regular at this nando’s and the staff here have ALWAYS been amazing and they were today apart from the manager. I went in and ordered my food at 5:30pm i asked if i could have my food at 6 as i was fasting and i didn’t want it to get cold, she said she couldn’t hold my order and basically had to give it into the kitchen i understood this and was happy, not a problem! BUT i was told she can place my food under the lamp. (The hot plate area so it stays warm) With my order i ordered Hallumi sticks which i always get with my main, they came out early and as i was told i asked the waiter to put them under the lamp as i still had around 15 minutes left, she was happy to do this and took them, she then returned them stating that her manager said she couldn’t put them there.
The mananger then came along, been a regular at nando’s and coming probably once a week outside of ramadan i tend to know/recognise the staff and managers. This one i didn’t, he wasn’t helpful at all, not understanding and his customer service was awful. He said he couldn’t leave my food under the lamp as it was the rule i said i understood this but as i was told by his colleague (who was really friendly as always) that it could be kept under the lamp, that as the manager he should adhere to this on this occasion out of principle. His ego didn’t allow this, and kept repeating the same thing, not even listening to the fact that i was told the food can be stored under the lamp. I was then given a refund and was sent on my way. This meant that after 13 hours of fasting; i was left hungry and having to find somewhere else to eat. As he went back to get my refund, this took around 7-8 minutes itself as he decided to take phone calls behind the till before coming back to refund me my money. REALLY REALLY Disappointing.Lack of customer service, lack of understanding of ramadhan, customers and just general courtesy as a manager.

Firstly the peri mayonnaise from the kitchen which I’m guessing was home made had almost a nail polish scent and tasted burnt a taste I couldn’t describe so i asked a member of staff if they could smell it and she didn’t bother or seem interested in the slightest she said she had the already made package one instead of the one from the kitchen. Then when we was still having ours starters the mains come out and the imitator wrap had the same peri mayo we complained about which I would’ve thought they would change but they didn’t. Then I asked another member of staff who was around 6ft dark skin with braids we explained the situation and he said “what do you want me to do “ which was very unprofessional and he was so rude. Then when we had finished not even that we actually finished our meal we was just so unsatisfied with the experience a man asked how it was and I said awful and politely asked to speak to the manager. When I explained all of this, he seemed uninterested and didn’t give a good enough reason on why we still had the same sauce what was given to use which was un edible he wasn’t apologetic in the slightest he offered me a voucher which I don’t want as Ask it was £30 just for myself and has ruined my experience at all nandos what I didn’t want I would have preferred a refund Terrible staff and terrible food...

No such customer service and no experience in serving their customers whatsoever.... 😳!!!!!! My family and I were so so disappointed with such service. It's not even called a service sorry but our table was not cleaned properly until we asked the lady to do it so and when she did it, she did it without any interest and seemed mad as if we humiliated her or something :/... Please if you are going to work as a waitress make sure you clean the tables properly for hygiene standards. Make sure you listen to your customers' needs and help them! It's not like we are degrading you or offending you. It's part of your job and must be done precisely. Also the plates were served just after the food was delivered lol. No proper serving experience at all 😞!!! Our chicken breast was half done to be honest and chewy from the inside. Also we had stomach aches at night from their chicken I swear. Just order for take out or delivery and stay relaxed without all this hassle at home. Dine in is a BIG NO NO.
