In this review, I shall cover, the dough, the sauce, and the toppings.
Now the dough, is like the foundations. Whilst building a beautiful multi storey mansion, one can argue that nothing is more important, than the foundations. They give structure and stability, whilst allowing the layers on top to diversify into something unique and beautiful. Every world class palace out there, no matter how different, how beautiful, how big or how small, they started with foundations laid to perfection. And this, ladies and gents, is exactly how an oasis pizza starts. The dough is cooked from the base up to glorious crunchy satisfaction, and the thickness is just right. It’s neither overpowering or underwhelming, managing to balance just right the scales of supporting the main tastes above it, and also tasting delicious itself. Each slice feels solid, and there’s an air of grandiose in not only the taste, but also the structure, and that’s because of good foundations.
The sauce is up next, and this one’s often the downfall of many late night pizza places. Too often are we left gasping for air, drowning in an unstoppable tide of an off-beat tomato sauce, and yet equally, we are often left parched, longing for moisture in a desert, but instead of grains of sand, the desert is the cheese and the dough, and instead of a lack of moisture, what’s really missing is the tomato sauce. Yet in this desert we see an oasis, an oasis with beams of light shining down on their perfectly balanced land of dough and tomato sauce. Never could you drown here, but always quenched, your thirst for moisture will be. This, is an oasis pizza.
Finally, to complete our perfect trifecta of pizza, we arrive at our destination, the toppings. They’re p damn good too.
In conclusion, oh...
Read moreDelivery driver was beyond rude and borderline offensive.
May i point out he apparently arrived 15 minutes early (which is normally a good thing!), 10 minutes before the due time i get my house mate come up to my attic room very shook up telling me their is a take away driver outside that has been shouting at him.
I make my way outside to be greeted by the most unpleasant and aggressive delivery driver who told me in a very rude manner that he had been waiting for 10 minutes. I explained to him i live in the attic room of a shared house, and had provided him with my mobile number in case of any difficulties, to which his reply was "Why should i have to ring you". Again i explained that for starters he is early, and there is still 5-10 minutes before the delivery is due (he denied this, but i quickly showed him the app to which he replied - "well i dont care what that says"), and secondly its common sense to ring the number provided if he is having difficulties. His reply was "I dont care, Im going to ban you".
I mentioned how bad this customer service is to which he replied again "I dont care, you're getting banned" and drove off. I was a regular at oasis both on just eat and in store but will never be visiting again due to this terrible encounter that has not only upset me but my innocent housemate who didn't even order anything. (he has also said he will not be using Oasis in the future)
This delivery driver needs to learn some common sense and customer service skills before he offends any...
Read moreNow let me tell you this - I've had takeaway pizza from more places than I can name, and nothing beats oasis pizza.
This pizza will change your life if you do what I do, grab a 10 or 12 inch Margherita, depending on how hungry you are. Might seem like a waste, "oh a Margherita yeah what a stupid idea" I hear you say, but hear me out. There's beauty in simplicity. This tomato sauce on the pizza shines by itself, it's rich and complex and subtle, but very tasty. The cheese is also subtle, not overpowering where you just taste the cheese, but just enough to perfectly complement the tomato sauce and create a beautiful pizza American pizza flavour on a little greasy, but consistently well cooked dough.
The chips you can get for £1 on top just make it even better. I'd personally say they're pretty trash chips, but there's something about them that makes you eat them all. I wouldn't rank them high on my all time chips, but I probably eat oasis pizza chips the quickest of all chips. It might just be because the saltiness works hand in hand with the sweet tomato sauce.
For the price you're paying, don't expect some fancy Italian pizza. You're getting a greasy American takeaway pizza that you'll...
