What a gorgeous place the Old Queen's Head in Sheffield is! It's a Grade II listed building and you can tell straight away from that stunning black and white Tudor architecture. The place is so old it's apparently haunted, which just adds to the atmosphere! We spent a lovely afternoon soaking up the sun in the courtyard outside. We were sipping on a delicious kiwi Old Mout cider and just admiring the building's character. There are even gargoyle type carvings outside! The beautiful lady on the bar was so welcoming and friendly too, which always makes a visit even better. We didn't get a chance to eat, but the food others were dining on looked and smelled fantastic. I'd definitely go back to try it for sure!

The Old Queen's has standard pub atmosphere, standard beer and fairly standard everything else including football on the telly. The two standout things are the building, which is the oldest pub in Sheffield and the unusual Czech food menu which is worth the trip alone check out the sauerkraut and dumpings Update, the food service at The Old Queen's Head just seems to get slower and slower, the staff seem friendly enough but you have to wonder whether there is enough of them. The food is still good and the range of beers is still reasonable but be prepared for a wait.

Very nice food!!! And very reasonably priced. My mom and me went for a roast dinner the other sunday and My mom has an allergy to Pork and Rosemary. All of this was avoided and we had a lovely meal for the price! £7.99 is a bargain!!! Roast dinners have gone up to £9.95 now. The burger was awesome aswell and the jacket potatoes are good! All the food is nice to be fair On Friday was a great night with some live music. Enjoyable evening. My friends enjoyed it too. 😁 New owners can’t do enough for you, very accommodating and so friendly. Highly recommend 😃

A great little pub with old rustic charms, excellent service and incredible food.

Me and my girlfriend found this by chance on our walk back to the train station and figured we would give it a try. The pub itself is really peaceful and quiet, lending itself more to the kind of pub you find out in the countryside rather than in the middle of a city. When you first walk through the door its easy to forget the busy city streets outside, with the wooden timber frames and seats by cosy fireplaces.

As pleasant as the building is, this place doesn't really shine until you order food. I opted for 6oz Burger & Chips with a side of Onion Rings, while my girlfriend went for Sausage & Mash. The food arrived quickly, well presented and with friendly waiting staff.

My Burger was hand-made, with what was obviously good quality meat, served in a lightly toasted bun and what has to be the nicest salad that I've ever had on a burger. The chips were crispy without starting to burn and some of the best I've had in a pub, while the side of Onion Rings were well priced (£1.99), covered in a wonderful batter and with a portion size more than enough to share. For £6.95 it's honestly the best meal I've had for the price (and definitely competes with anywhere more expensive). I can't praise that meal enough.

My girlfriends Sausage & Mash was slightly less impressive, coming with two Yorkshire puddings that could well of been standard frozen ones you get from the supermarket. The Mash Potatoes and Garden Peas were exactly what you would expect, nothing special there either. However the three large sausages that are the main focus of the meal are plentiful, incredibly tasty and certainly make up for the lacklustre food surrounding them. Once again, for £6.95 you'd be hard pressed to get anything better.

Overall the experience was great, the women on the bar was friendly and kept up customer service standards even when it was obvious she was busy. Nothing was rushed and at the same time we weren't ever left waiting for service. A brilliant little building, with (mostly) exceptional food and faultless service. Will be visiting here...

This was one of my favourite pubs in Sheffield when I lived in Sheffield I use to go in the pub on most days with a few of my rail enthusiasts mates. The meals they serve were absolutely excellent and the beers was superb. Now people say this pub is supposedly haunted well I can honestly say the pub as got a few ghosts in it. I was in the pub late one Sunday night at about 21:45 I was stood with the old landlord and a few friends talking and having a beer, when one of the half pint glasses that was on the counter under the optics slowly moved across the top of the counter. The counter top was dry and clean but before the pub was refurbished and it had the small room me and a fellow friend saw a man sitting at the table with a black coat and tricorn hat. We went to talk to him but he just vanished.i have heard footsteps in coming through the main door on to the tiles and there as been nobody there. I really miss this pub and all the friends I use to see in the pub had some great nights in the Old Queens Head there as been some excellent landlords and landlady's in the pub who was always...

Classic old pub in Sheffield's center. Location is super handy for access to the sheffield bus interchange. Usually quiet, good beer selection and friendly staff.

UPDATE: under the new landlord this pub has declined SIGNIFICANTLY in terms of customer service and quality of the ale. I ordered my favorite pint on my recent visit, it tasted foul. I returned it and found the landlady to be very passive aggressive regarding my comments that it didn't taste as it should. She poured a new pint, it was clear as expected and looked night and day compared to the original. However it still started awful and left a burning feeling on my lips. I dare not complain again given the first interaction. Interestingly she never asked if it was better. Hopefully this is just a temporary issue and perhaps training on customer service and line cleaning will...
