Red Lion Hotel — Restaurant in Sheffield

In the past this place was a bit of a dive but on a quiet Sunday afternoon we thought we'd try it out to see if things had changed, post Covid. People seemed to be distancing but that could be down to it being nearly empty and at least it had some sanitiser in various places. The barmaid was friendly but we only stopped for 1 because it was just all a bit bland and "not bothered". Not as bad as it was (on this occasion) but still along way to go before it catches up to the other pubs...

We went in for 2 pints of Guinness. The first thing we noticed was that it smells like a old folks home. I’ll give the red lion 3/5 for the Guinness. I’ve had worse and I’ve definitely had better. Over all still a better experience than the wood seats...
