A real ale pub that is lager-drinker friendly, with a choice of ciders too. That can be quite rare, and it's what I like about this place. And you still get to have that air of superiority that some ale buffs have, because you'll not find Carling, Stella or Fosters - but better, purer Czech and German lagers worthy of a little quiet snobbery if you are so inclined. That said, the pub isn't "up itself" like some others, it's still a local - just without the usual rubbish that gets forced upon even the better tied houses.

An array of pumps means that there is always a choice of ales in different styles - the "dark pump" usually alternates between a stout and a porter, with some unusual brews to be sampled.

Two regular ciders cover medium and dry(ish), whilst there is always a guest scrumpy of varying potency. A decent enough array of whiskies and a choice of some good rum are also offered

Astute buying coupled with a high turnover of ales, and no chain involved, means that pricing is keener - a premium beer costs little more than a standard beer at a pub that has a middleman to pay.

Dogs are always welcomed and often treated to a chew or two.

The pub gets busy at times - mostly on summer evenings when the sun is out - a large beer garden with a grassy bank offers plenty of space to enjoy a beer or several while soaking up the sun - and a generous covered area with patio heaters gives shelter to smokers in the colder wetter months. Payment by card is not accepted which cuts down waiting time - they do offer a cashback facility intended for using once if you do need cash, which is cheaper than pubs with a 3rd party ATM installed - but be warned if you have a Co-Operative bank account - their card machine doesn't like them for some reason and will decline your payment - if you're not aware of this it can induce a brief moment of panic when you think your account is somehow overdrawn the day after payday!

The Sheaf View is not particularly child-welcoming in the evening or in the winter. Children are encouraged to be outside and well behaved in the daytime. There is no play area other than on the grass outside - with little for them to do, children will soon get bored. This can be either a good thing or a bad thing depending on what you want out of a pub, but...

The Sheaf View Inn stands as a beacon of Sheffield's vibrant pub scene, offering an unmatched experience for beer enthusiasts in a warm and inviting atmosphere. As you step through its doors, you're welcomed by the comforting embrace of traditional pub charm, setting the stage for an unforgettable journey through its stellar beer selection.

At the heart of The Sheaf View Inn lies its exceptional array of real ales and craft beers, carefully curated to cater to diverse tastes and preferences. Among the guest beers, there's always at least one cask beer from Neepsend Brewery, adding a local touch to the lineup and showcasing the best of Sheffield's brewing talent alongside other regional and international favourites.

In addition to its exceptional beer offerings, The Sheaf View Inn is also known for its welcoming atmosphere, where four-legged friends are embraced as part of the community. Whether you're engaging in lively conversation with fellow patrons, or simply relaxing with your pup by your side, you'll find yourself instantly at home amidst the welcoming embrace of The Sheaf View Inn.

For those seeking an authentic taste of Sheffield's pub culture, look no further than The Sheaf View Inn. It's not just a pub—it's an experience that celebrates the timeless joy of good beer, great company, and the camaraderie of...

A fantastic pub for people that don’t want a pint of carling. A great selection of cask and keg beer, a monster collection of spirits and some tasty treats including pork pie Dom, Kyle and the rest of the team there are always, attentive, friendly and down for some banter. The pub is always clean and welcoming to well behaved people and our four legged friend (who mostly behave, looking at you Ozzy and Tigger). They also have a very comfortable outdoor area for the six and a half days of summer we get. Prices are very reasonable for the quality of product and service on hand. One of my favourite pubs in Sheffield. In fact it opens in half an hour sod it I'm...
