A welcoming, authentic Korean & Asian restaurant with BBQ and HotPot table dining experience available, located at New Era Square on the outskirts of Sheffield City Centre. Shuyo Restaurant has a vast menu with many meals to choose from and caters to vegetarians, vegans, and meat-eaters. Portions are generous, and the ingredients are fresh. I highly recommend this restaurant for a great taste of Asian cuisine.
Shuyo offered a delicious Christmas Menu for just £24.95pp, which was too good to miss! This was available until 23rd Dec, and with a vegetarian menu available also, it was a feast for Korean food lovers.
What’s included? (Menus pictured above);
Any beer or soft drink on arrival and a bowl of Kimchi to share A selection of all 3 Appetisers to share A main meal (7 choices)
Including the Christmas Set Menu, we ordered other dishes. Here’s everything we enjoyed;
Kimchi & selection of 3 Appetisers to share; wakame, prawn seaweed pancakes, chicken skewers Sizzling Beef in Black Pepper Sauce – we re-ordered this with udon noodles and as a stir fry rice dish, it was THAT good Seafood Kimchi Fried Rice – this was great, lots of prawn and squid Korean BBQ – Boneless prime beef short rib, marinated chicken thigh, courgette️ Apple Mango Jinro (13% liqueur️ like Schnapps)
👍 The food here is fresh and delicious, the Sizzling Beef in Black Pepper especially was a hit with everyone. We enjoyed the spicy dishes as they gave genuine heat. We all loved trying the BBQ table for the first time, I only wish I’d had more confidence, but there’s always a next time! The staff were helpful and gave us everything we needed and some advice on what would be good to order. The staff were also lovely and accommodating and the food kept on coming and was simply delicious. As well as enjoying the main dishes, I especially enjoyed the Prawn Seaweed Pancakes. I tried an Apple Mango Jinro, which is like a 13% liqueur, it tasted like schnapps- very warming!
👎 The only minus point was that there were a few dishes I went to order that were unavailable at the time.

Read moreOk so how did I just pay £14.90 for 9 'Korean fried pieces of chicken with sauce' main meal and get 9 half chicken WINGS with one bite on each? WHAT. A. MASSIVE. RIP OFF.
How dare they not say they're wings at that price? It's written on the menu as if you are getting boneless pieces of chicken like goujons or thigh sized fillets sort of thing (have they switched to chicken wings to save money or what?) I ordered a rice, to go with it, the rice dipped in sauce ended up being my actual meal. My soft drink was £3.20 too and served luke warm. Definately not bothering with this place again. My husband burst out laughing. It was rather ridic. It's a good job it was my meal mainly and not shared. What a massive disappointment. I'm still hungry too. Atmosphere was very quiet and boring. No pictures up, no interesting lighting. Total rip off experience. Not sure what...
Read moreJust like many of these places in Sheffield calling themselves Korean cuisine, they are definitely NOT. It’s open by Chinese people who do their version that they know in China and cater mainly for students. There is no Korean BBQ yet and after this experience, I’m not sure I want to try. Cold decor without any style. Menu with very limited dishes. Sliced pork soup was somewhat underwhelming and tasted diluted as well as very little meat and tofu for £11.20. Korean pancake was so doughey. Where are the vegetables and crispiness? Service was so so and not very friendly. Unfortunately, it’s another venue to try and forget.
After receiving a response from the owner below, I may add that my point is proved about your so called "friendliness". Not a professional reply but more of spite. Let's see how long your...
