This is Liam from The Lockup, another escape room in Sheffield, full disclosure, the experience was offered for free as a collaboration effort, though in hindsight it would have been worth the money.

We did 'first contact' as a group of 3. Highly recommended, you can tell they invested a boat load of time and energy into the place, not just a load of money! Simon was incredibly welcoming and you could tell he loved playing the part of the AI on the ship.

There was also a lot to do in the room, the pace was really good and there wasn't a massive need for clues, everything was spaced out logically.

Loved this escape room! I've done quite a few, and this one didn't disappoint! It was innovative and different, with plenty to do at once so all 4 of us were kept busy (we did the First Contact room). I never felt like I ran out of things to be trying. It was great that once you had completed the base task you could choose from 3 levels of additional task depending on how much time you had left and how much of a challenge you wanted. Between 3 and 4 ⭐'s can't quite justify 4......good story and concept we played afterlife, some bits were quite old and tired looking. Some areas had been broken and not fixed properly. Our host Isla was very professional and explained everything well, they could do with communication tools ie walkie talkies. These aren't to expensive and come in handy, I would go back to try another room as have been to a different Cryptology. I have done quite a few over the years and the past week, lol.
