Had been wanting to try here for a while and last night was our first visit but it will be our only visit. Booked a table ahead but it wasn't busy at all and could have just walked in off the street. Decor could do with an update, felt a little tired inside. No hand soap in the ladies toilet but hand sanitiser was available. Quite a few members of staff to help. Ordered drinks and food which arrived quickly. Poppadoms were OK, pickle tray OK, bhajis were very oily and the main disappointing. I couldn't find Chicken Tikka Balti on the menu at the time of ordering but was assured it was available by the waiter, so we ordered it but what arrived wasn't Chicken Tikka, more like tiny cubes of chicken in a tasteless sauce. Rice was clumpy. Garlic Nan was the best bit but at £3.50, quite expensive! We won't be revisiting.

Totally surprised we have not rated this restaurant before as we have been several times. Madge says it is her favourite local Indian. Traditional place with a huge selection of dishes to chose from. Really enjoyed them all on each visit but maybe a little out of touch with the Street Food craze. Cobra in bottles. Good value.

I could say it’s been the worst starters I had in whole UK . I have ordered chicken tikka, lamb tikka both were worst and seekh kebab was good and then kashmiri naans with hyderbadi gosht curry this was ok ok then chicken biryani was below average. Better go for any other if you want to have proper indian food

The Good: Very polite and friendly lady on reception / bar duty.

Large portions.

The bad: Decor was worn and shoddy with chip marks on pretty much every painted surface in the reception area. Frayed carpet by the bar area etc.

One of the senior gentlemen told me it would be a 30 min wait for a walk in takeaway order and then when I said no thanks and was about to leave he said it would actually be 15 mins. His attitude was not friendly or polite. It seemed he thought he was doing a favour even speaking to me.

After 15 mins a bag arrived at reception. The bag was inspected multiple times by different people but still it was left to sit there for 10 mins before someone put two and two together and realised it was my now cold food which was then offered up with no apology. Very poor communication and organisation within the ranks. I was even offered another customers take away order whilst waiting for my own which that guy then had to wait for when he arrived.

Things got worse when I arrived home to find a VERY greasy curry of which I had to drain a LARGE amount of grease into an empty rice container. This is NOT authentic Indian cuisine in the slightest.

Things got worse still when I started to eat what was a very tasteless curry with tough, hard paneer cheese chunks. Extremely disappointing.

For those out there who've experienced truly delicious, authentic Indian cuisine (there are a few good places in Sheffield) and...

Zara's Indian Restaurant. Have to be totally honest this is my favourite Indian restaurant, my friends and I always have our "Indian Food Fix" at Zara's. However at this unfortunate time, restaurants are closed, so the option available to us is takeaway. The food at Zara's is always good, but what would their takeaway be like? Takeaways are something we just don't eat, but this is Zara's right? We checked out the takeaway menu and ordered Popadoms with pickles/chutney's, Boiled Rice, and sides of Niramish, Saag Paneer, Dal Maknj and a Roti. I was offered a delivery service and I opted to collect. We agreed a time for collection and upon opening the door of Zara's I was greeted with a huge smile and a warm welcome. There was 2 members of staff that I could see, in uniform offering their exceptional professional service. It felt like it was below zero outside and they invited me to sit in the warm near a heater. The food was ready at the agreed time. There was more than enough for the 4 of us. It was piping hot, fresh and everything was wrapped and labelled individually. We were not disappointed, it was just as aromatic, fresh and delicious as being in their restaurant I couldn't recommend them enough to you, and we will hopefully having another...

Went there on a whim and was the best descision we made

Took my sister and her small family, the staff very accommodating, welcoming out 8 month old

They sat us at a table at the back making sure we could get the pram in Waiter was attentive every step of the way, excellent banter

Had a few large beers to start, good selection of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks

We started with poppadoms and pickle tray, I have never seen such a good selection of pickles! Would have again. Of note the waiter kept discreetly checking on us and as soon as we had done ge must have been co..uncaring with the kitchen as once the starters were finished the mains were less than 5 minutes later presented

All curries we ordered were delicious, each spiced excellent, meat and fish cooked to perfection We had prawn bhuna, lamb ghost and chicken Afghani, would happily reorder all of them again

Looking at the menu though there was so much choice and combinations available, I can't wait to go again to try some more

Good portion sizes of curries and priced reasonably Overall an...
