So I first stumbled onto this gem of a restaurant in Slough when I walked past the window with its attractive fruits - oranges, etc. It reminded me of how the Middle Eastern restaurants in Edgeware Road decorate their windows. Looking in, there was a busy queue for lunch and I decided to try it out.
Tried the lamb shawarma and it was delicious! The owner, Hasan is very friendly and noted my love for spicy sauce, giving me extra chillies and sauce. I returned a few more times to come get my shawarma fix everytime I visited Slough for errands.
I was planning a surprise party for my husband and decided to get the catering done from here. It was perfectly organised with Hasan's assistance. I went into the shop again to try out some other mains - the kofta meshwi and rices - all delicious. We agreed on a mix of starters and mains, with breads, rices (3 types!), and sauces and pickles. He would deliver it hot on the day to our home and at the specified time so as not to ruin the surprise. The driver was punctual and Hasan kept me constantly up to date via Whatsapp about the driver's whereabouts.
The food was in very generous portions and guests complimented the houmous, vine leaves wrapped with rice & veg inside, chicken shawarma, rices with meats (try it with plain yogurt, mmm!) particularly. I didn't even get to try the vine leaves as it finished so quickly! Everything was tasty and hot. Even the children found the food yummy especially mine being fussy eaters.
Would definitely order again and again and again! :) and many friends of mine have taken down the contact details to order for their future events. Well done to the owner and his restaurant - great hospitality, excellent customer service and scrumptiously delicious food - who would say...
Read moreAsked for food recommendation the staff suggested a half grilled chicken with rice and salad meal, for something like £8. Rice and salad was fine, chicken was pre made, warmed up in a microwave and slapped on the grill for a minute. I didn't actually see how mine was prepped, this is how they made a customers who ordered the same thing as I was eating. As you can clearly tell it not nice. Nothing Lebanese about it, not fresh was rubbery and tasteless.
The manager then suggested that I try their shisha, the flavour was recommended by another one of their staff. Can't remember the name of the mix and to be honest it was awesome! And at a fair price of £14! Flavour didn't die out for the full hour that I was there. They also changed coal regularly. I would of gave this review a 4 purely on how nice the shisha was. However, I had to ask the same guy who suggested the flavour for a tea on 2 occasions he didn't bring me anything. Instead he said we're closed now as I was going to ask him for a tea for the 3rd time. The website says they close at 3am but they said they were closed at 1am.
I went back the next day because I wanted that shisha again at roughly 12am. They had all different staff and said shisha was closed. A couple of people walked in for food as I was there, they were also turned away and the staff stated to them they were closed despite the shop looking 100% open.
Overall ok experience. Poor food quality but if you're a shisha person then I would say try it. Way cheaper than other local places and better quality. All the staff were friendly and polite. There was also a group of ladies in the shisha area seems welcoming for...
Read moreWould have rated 0 if possible. Came today, on the road doing round trip from Nottingham, owner was outside and seemed friendly, went in. Told it was one price, two of us had food, chicken was ice cold in the middle, after being took back to chuck on grill again, we were then served the wrong food. They gave us extra free rice which we never were never asked if we wanted and which we never touched as we already had rice. We left loads of food and come to pay and it's about 8 quid more than we expected. No clear pricing or menu to be found anywhere. Would go out of my way to tell people to avoid. Luckily won't be in the area too often. Both very annoyed and wasted money. When we questioned the price the shop worker had to try and figure out why he's charging us what he was almost like the prices were made off top of his head. Back on the road...
