Restaurant Review: A Mixed Experience!
I recently had the opportunity to dine at a restaurant that had previously impressed me with their catering offerings, particularly their rice, which I found to be among the best I've ever tasted. With such high expectations for their grilled meats, I was looking forward to a delightful meal. Unfortunately, my experience fell short in several key areas.
While I had high hopes for the grilled meats, I was disappointed with the portion sizes, flavour, and overall cooking quality. A significant portion of the meat was dry and lacked the vibrant spices I had anticipated. I left the restaurant feeling a bit hungry, which is never a good sign, especially given the price point. The menu prices felt a bit steep considering the smaller portions compared to similar establishments.
The restaurant's decor and ambiance did not resonate with me. It lacked the warm, inviting feel I associate with Kabul dining experiences. However, I did appreciate the thoughtful addition of prayer mats and a dedicated space for worship, which adds a unique touch to the overall experience.
The staff at the restaurant were efficient and ensured that everything ran smoothly. While they may not have been overly friendly, their professionalism was evident, and they got the job done without any fuss. This efficiency certainly contributed to a hassle-free dining experience.
Located conveniently on the high street, the restaurant is easily accessible. However, parking can be a challenge, so it's advisable to plan ahead if you're driving. There are a few nearby car parks, but they can fill up quickly during peak hours.
In summary, this restaurant has some standout items on the menu, particularly the rice, which I still highly recommend. However, the grilled meats were underwhelming, and the overall atmosphere did not evoke the Kabul experience I was hoping for. I may consider returning to try other menu items, but I'm not in a rush to do so. If you're curious, it might be worth a visit, but manage your expectations regarding the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI donāt say this lightly ā Kabul Palace in Slough is hands-down the BEST Afghan food spot in London. From the moment I walked in, the warm, welcoming staff made the experience feel special. They were incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about the food they serve, which made the entire visit even more enjoyable.
Now letās talk about the mixed grill ā absolutely incredible. Every piece of meat was perfectly grilled, tender, and bursting with flavor. You could taste the smoky char, the delicate spices, and the care that went into preparing it. It was served fresh, piping hot, and beautifully presented ā the kind of dish you remember long after the last bite.
Every element of the meal was spot on. From the fluffy naan to the perfectly seasoned rice and rich, savory sauces, it was a feast of flavor and freshness. You can tell they use only the best ingredients, and everything comes out fresh and warm, just as it should.
This place isn't just good ā it sets the standard. Iāve tried Afghan cuisine across the city, and nothing compares to the authenticity and taste Kabul Palace delivers. Whether you're a longtime fan of Afghan food or trying it for the first time, this is the spot you have to visit.
Highly, highly recommend. If youāre anywhere near London and love incredible food, make the trip to Kabul Palace. You...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI've passed this place numerous times, but didn't think I would visit it.
But, I read some review that it was one of the top restaurants in Slough and me being a foodie thought, it has to be on my list of "must visit restaurants".
We went in for an early dinner and the place wasn't packed as expected.
We had a look at the menu and the prices are decent as the quantity makes it worth it.
We decide to have the dinner for two package, it comprised of; One Chicken Skewer, Two Skewers of Seekh Kebab, Choice of one curry (we had lamb curry), One Qabili Pulaw, One Nana bread and a salad.
The service was quick, friendly and made sure that we were comfortable.
The food came and it was super delicious, the chicken skewers were out of this world, it was juicy, succulent,f ull of flavour and melted in your mouth.
The lamb curry and pulav was also amazing. Whilst the bread (naan) was so fresh and soft. The lamb skewers were a good size and definitely had the required flavour.
This place is a hidden jewel on Slough High Street, it's definitely worth it and one that I'll be frequenting a...
