It was my mine and my husbands 10 year wedding anniversary back in August and our lovely family bought us a voucher for a meal at Andria so we could celebrate in style!
We were very excited, babysitter was booked and we were starting to get ready and then one of our kids fell ill less than 2 hours before we were due to leave for our meal out!
So we had to cancel our booking and reschedule for another date. Fate would have it, much to our despair, that a very similar scenario happened to us on our second attempt a month later. So we cancelled again. 😩
We wondered if our lovely meal out would ever happen but we FINALLY made it out for our meal last night (Fri 12th November 2021)! 😍🍸
Wow, it was worth waiting for!
I cannot express what an incredible experience we had from start to finish. The food was absolutely phenomenal, the restaurant itself modern yet cosy but, for us, it was the staff that made the experience utterly unforgettable.
Thank you, thank you, thank you to those of you working last night for your kind, thoughtful and totally unexpected gesture and your efforts that went into making our night totally unforgettable. We were both utterly blown away by you all.
We highly recommend this fantastic place, incredible food and wonderful staff and we will...
Read moreWe live in the Cotswolds and have stayed in Dartmouth at least 3 times a year for the last 20 years or so.During that time we have dined in nearly all the restaurants past and present in Dartmouth. We booked here on Saturday 23rd April. for the first time with 2 friends who were staying with us The waitress appeared at our table before we had time to settle ourselves and told us we would need to order at least 3 plates each. She was very arrogant and made us feel they were doing us a favour by letting us use the restaurant.A second waiter explained that we could order dishes but the chef would decide when they were delivered to us-especially if we ordered beef or lamb- and in what order and that we could be waiting for some time in between servings. This proved to be the case as a side dish of potatoes came before a fish dish.An asparagus dish consisted of 2 stalks cut in half. The servings were small -as you might expect in a tapas bar- but very overpriced. We left feeling hungry and confused as to what was supposed to be the concept behind this place. From talking to some of the locals it appears that portions seem to differ from day to day.Overall a bad experience and one we won't...
Read moreAfter a journey to Dartmouth that took 3 times longer than it should have, we only just made it to the restaurant in time for our dinner reservation. Thank goodness we did though. The food, service and ambience was exactly what we needed to cheer ourselves up. It was the first time we'd been and I'd advise booking in the evening. The reviews I'd read suggested it was good and I can wholeheartedly agree. This is a small plates restaurant, where you select a variety of dishes from the menu and they turn up in order when they have been freshly prepared. The two of us shared everything and found that we had ordered just the right amount with 6 dishes in total. The food was gorgeous. So tasty. So much thought had gone into the flavours and the cooking was spot on. Service was super. The two people looking after us were great. They were very friendly, attentive and helpful. The wine list is a good one and not excessively pricey. So if you're looking for great food in a relaxed atmosphere cooked by people who care about what they do, then...
