Perhaps I went to a different place from other reviewers? But here's my take.

Popped in for a light lunch and coffee today. The table we sat at did have some cups and plates from a previous customer. But these were promptly cleared and our order was taken by a cheerful lady. This lady was also very helpful to a lady in a wheelchair, making sure she was comfy etc.

Husband had a jacket potato with chilli, I had scrambled eggs on toast with smoked salmon. We didn't wait long even though every table was taken and it was busy.

We enjoyed our lunch, prices are very reasonable, it's clean, and the staff were happy and accommodating. They let us bring our dog in, but he sits quietly under the table, you wouldn't know he was there.

Went to pay at the til, this is the only negative. It was really messy behind the counter, it looked a real jumble sale, needs a bit of a tidy up, and stuff needs putting away. All I would say it's a cafe, don't go expecting a 4/5 star restaurant.

We...

Not impressed. I had a Ploughman’s. Grated cheese. Ham was ok. Pickle was bit of sweet pickle and some silverskin onions. Salad sliced thickly with large pieces of onion. Shop bought coleslaw. 2 slices of nondescript bread and butter.. Badly in need of a makeover. Yesterday had takeout Bakewell slice. It was delicious but I got the bit with hardly any toasted almonds. Other pieces were better presented. Given the time of year, & how quiet they were I would expect better. If I were them I would hope for future custom. I thought it was a bit pricey for what it was. I’d be happy to pay for food with a bit of thought to presentation. The surroundings were perfect. I should imagine they are busy in the Summer because of this decor. I would pare down the menu and do really good food, especially in Winter to keep costs down. (3 soups were on the menu. I did not try these.) Staff indifferent. Again, serving the public is not easy, but you need to be welcoming in this...

A friend and I went in this weekend for some brunch, I ordered a full English and as the menu confirmed it was an option, I opted to pay for an extra hash brown and sausage. The owner who took our order would not let me buy the extra sausage. I pointed out it was an option on the menu and she told me It was very expensive and I would not be able to eat it all so I ended up just having the extra hash brown. When she came back to see I had finished it all, she made a comment about how the sausages were very big and I replied I could have done with the extra one I asked to buy, to which she responded that most people wouldn’t have been able to eat all that… The food we had was lovely but unfortunately due to the experience with the owner it somewhat ruined it and we won’t be returning. As it was an option on the menu to buy an extra sausage, due to the comments she made and the tone they were made in, it left us feeling like she was...

Called in here for a coffee and cake, ended up having a lovely beans on toast, wife had a full English (we also bought cake to take away). There is a large selection of cakes and bakes to choose from as well as a decent menu; there is a good selection of gluten free cakes as well. The place is quite large downstairs and decorated in a fun manner, wheel chair and buggy access is okay for the seating area; you won’t be able to use the loos here though as they are up a set of narrow stairs. The food was good, the cakes (when we ate them later) were lovely! The coffee was also good. Based on my experience I would be happy to recommend a stop here for a bite to eat. I’m sure everyone will find something they like; there is certainly a lot to choose from!

Enjoyed a nice coffee and tea cake on a cold morning. Staff pleasant and service quick, this is a nice enough cafe, with lots of cakes on offer. I would come back here again, and tell others about it. To the owners i would say competition is fierce and may need to think of ways to stand out more.

Atmosphere and cuteness drew us in and friendly greeting and service. However, be prepared to wait when busy as very slow to bring out order. Milkshake to die for, ploughman's a bit limp, with grated cheese??! Breakfast bap filling tasty, bap rather sad. Overall not massively impressed
