Fabulous 1st experience of lunch at this lovely restaurant today. Just me & my son, we visited on a recommendation from one of his uni mates ⊠and what an exceptional recommendation it was. Itâs light & bright, oozing the best of the Portuguese vibe, with plenty of seating in booths or stand alone tables. The welcome was warm & sincere. The clientele ranging from lunching white collars, to casual tourists, to takeaway requests off the cuff. Nothing seemed too much trouble and the delightful family who have opened this new restaurant have the uncommon knack of getting hospitality to look effortless. The menu is straightforward and inviting, we both enjoyed our meals very much. The presentation on plate was wholesome and the portions very good value. If youâve read this far, youâll know Iâm going to recommend you find the earliest reason to go & see for yourself what an oasis of honest & hearty Portugal this earnest enterprise is, quietly tucked away from the hubbub of big chain food conveyor outlets. So here it is: my first visit 5* and Iâm looking forward to being a long term friend & customer; well done, keep it up, youâre doing an amazing job & Southampton is very lucky to...
Read moreWe had an absolutely amazing experience at this restaurant for my husbandâs birthday. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome, especially our waiter who was incredibly friendly and warmânot just with us, but with our children too. We came specifically for the octopus, and it did not disappointâit was perfectly cooked and full of flavour. The rest of the food was just as delicious, and the chocolate cake was a real highlight: rich, moist, and beautifully presented. When I asked if it would be possible to add a candle to the cake for my husbandâs birthday, the waiter kindly said, "Of course, no problem!" After we all sang happy birthday, she even surprised us by saying the cake was âon the house.â Such a thoughtful gesture really made our evening extra special. Everything from the food to the service was exceptional. Weâre so glad we chose this place to celebrate. Highly recommendedâweâll definitely be...
Read moreI had the pleasure of ordering from Moura's in Bedford Place, Southampton, and I must say, it was a fantastic experience. As someone who never eats meat or fish, I decided to make an exception today, and I am so glad I did! I ordered the grilled codfish (Bacalhau Assado na Brasa) with "batatas a murro," a traditional Portuguese dish. The fish was cooked to perfection, with a beautifully crispy exterior and a tender, flaky inside. The seasoning was spot on, enhancing the natural flavors without overpowering them. The accompanying potatoes were soft and flavorful, complementing the dish perfectly. For anyone looking for authentic Portuguese cuisine in Southampton, I highly recommend Moura's. Whether you're a seafood lover or, like me, someone who rarely ventures into this territory, this restaurant might just surprise you. I will definitely be ordering...
