Piggy's is nice little café with some okay food choices, the main down side to this place, is when they cook food on the premises, if it's a hot day, you tend to get over heated. I try and sit as close to the door as I can to avoid becoming too hot but it's not always available and each time I end up not getting a door seat, I over heat, since they have no air conditioning or anything to cool the eating area. The other down sides comes with the food quality for price, I paid for some Korean chicken and rice, the chicken was great, but the sauce they had it in was more then likely microwaved, It was incredibly hot, not spicy hot, but heat hot, the sort of heat you get from a microwave. The next issue with the dish was the rice, it was over cooked and almost the consistency of mush, It's not clear how they cooked the rice, but it wasn't good. something worth mentioning about the chicken, it wasn't that hot, the sauce had all the heat but the chicken was almost stone cold, really poor. The other food options are also not that great, they have really high prices for their food but quality doesn't match it, the only thing holding this review at 3 stars is the fact they are the only restaurant/café that enable mum to get a gluten free alternative in Woolston, for that reason alone we will keep going there but if a better option comes around, you can be sure we will move on, unless the quality and...
Read moreArrived at lunch time and there was one man in there.
Took ages to get a menu Ordered food and drinks, including an ice coffee . More people arrived. That all received their food and drinks before us. So had to asked where my daughter Ice coffee was as they were dishing out everyone else’s and not hers.
Nearly an hour we were in there before our food came out. All the people who came in after us had eaten and left
Food arrived. And my god my face must of said it all. Daughters mac n cheese has leak after i asked if it was completely plan (yes was the answer ) so she wouldn’t eat it.
My other daughter egg royal had the most smallest amount of salmon in history (which we were told we were lying when pointed it out to them). And my prawn baguette (chef special) was tasteless and had about 7 king prawn on and tastes like crap.
They offered to replace the Mac and cheese , but after an hour of waiting in the first place it was a...
Read moreI was not wishing to write bad words about this property, however given the disgusting response from the owner two years after my 2 star review I feel I need to respond.
I have written many reviews on Google as you can see with a variety of scoring and this is dependent upon my opinion of the property.
When it comes to Piggy’s I gave a 2 star review as I felt that you were rather crammed in and felt on top of the other parties. I was also less impressed with the quality of service there was certainly no great enjoyment from the member of staff that served us.
Then finally my main reason for the low mark was the fact you have the audacity to charge quite a sum for a glass of Prosecco that you had just purchased from Lidl. I witnessed the member of staff pour from the bottle which is the Lidl brand one. I have no issue with you making a profit but at least source your drinks from an alternative source other than a...
