walked into the premises dated music level bit too loud for both time of day and trade level was greeted by a lovely girl elly may who i found later had similar name to my daughter (lily mai) she was very engaging and between her and the male member of staff who served us made the visit bearable... haven't been to tgi's for a few months and always found the weekday deal amazing however to find a price change written at the entrance two courses with a higher price was a little upset but still made the effort as food previous was of good quality, was seated at table which had little to nothing salt and pepper placed in middle of table (close to empty) as i am quite obsessed to attention to detail found this extremely off-putting. looking through the menu began to question my decisions for location for tea but carried on to order. my step daughter order loaded skins and chicken BLT from the 2 course for 9.99 menu, my partner ordered buffalo wings and jack daniels chicken from the 2 course 14.99 and i ordered jack daniels chicken strips and 8oz new york strip. appetizers arrived and we began to eat poured my jd sauce over chicken strips and chowed down to find no taste and what could only be described as watered down nastiness, didn't want to make a scene so finished meal and questioned if new recipe for sauce, which replied no as ordered in not home made, accepted this and waited for mains to arrive.... mains arrived and on arrival of daughters BLT waitress placed down exclaiming she wasn't sure if any bacon in the chicken "B"lt my partners meal arrived before hand with mine and instantly saw an empty Jack Daniels chicken plate where mash should be (there was mash there but honestly value for money i think not) i began to dunk my chips into JD sauce and like water it ran off, and once again no taste... called the waiter over and offered him to try the chips which he didn't want to and mentioned the lack of mash he went off to the kitchen to fetch more sauce and mash in the time it took for it to arrive our food was getting colder and colder. and as i looked to my left it seemed the chap on the table next had similar issue with lack of sauciness. dunked my chip and instantly saw my mouth drool from the lovely oozy little gem that is JD Glaze carried on with my meal which as this point was luke warm, finished paying bill which took 15 mins after table was cleared and left.... 100% not satisfied with visit just glad the front of house staff had great customer service skills or i could have seen myself walking out the door without paying!!!!!! TGI sort it out you use to...
Read moreDon’t expect Michelin Star quality but for TGI Fridays this has to be one of the best branches of TGI Fridays I have ever been to,this branch is the perfect example of how the TGI Fridays experience should be and how a TGI Fridays restaurant should be run. It is clear to see that this branch has robust management. This branch offers the proper experience that this chain is renowned for. The service was fabulous,Lydia and the manager were very polite and we were served quickly. The manager was very accommodating with my order! The atmosphere is lovely and also the decor is classic timeless American decor. The Toilets were not the best I have seen at TGI Fridays but not the worst. The food was absolutely delicious,I am pleased that the Potato Skins are back to how they used to be. The Nachos were delicious,it had a slight kick to them but it was not overpowering at all. I liked the dips too. It was nicely presented but the portion size was a bit merge. The main was delicious too,I ordered the Classic Half Rack of Ribs which were some of the best Ribs I have ever had in the U.K. The Ribs were really tender too. The BBQ sauce was delicious too,so smoky and so delicious. The Slaw was Ok too. Despite the outstanding quality of the Ribs,I think that 21 pounds is a bit steep in terms of value but I would not object to ordering it again. The Bacon and Cheese Fries were delicious, having the BBQ dip with the Ribs really added flavour to the Chips because I just dipped them in. They have a lovely array of gluten free options too,I would like to see the Fridays Sesame Chicken Strips as a gluten free option. Everything was so beautifully presented. We decided to visit this specific TGI branch in Southampton because of easier access. If I found myself in Southampton I would definitely dine here again and I would recommend this restaurant if you are hungry in Southampton. TGI Fridays is the perfect end to a happy day out. Also there are 3 hotels practically on site too and I would recommend you dine here if you are staying...
Read moreWe just visited 'Southampton Retail park TGI Fridays at 5pm for my daughters 7th birthday. This turned out to be an extremely poor visit in which I will never return again. I will list the following issues in the space of just over an hour stay 1- The starters and main courses all came out together! Even though it was specified to be seperate 2- One main course was not ordered which resulted in a delay for a person to have food 3- No dips where offered at anytime 4- Second drinks order was very slow for the kids 5- Our empty plates remained on our table for at least 15/20 minutes The last points are what made this visit EXTREMELY AND UNFORGETTABLE UPSETTING 6- I brought in a lovely unicorn cake for my daughters 7th birthday. I gave this to the waiter who was aware due to prior booking. When I asked the waiter for the cake after a very long wait clearing the tables. He said yes. He cleared only 1 table and left the kids and disappeared for a good 5/10 minutes. 7- During this wait my husband cleaned the kids tables encased they came out singing as we didn't want a mess in front of them. 8- The manager came over and explained had been squash in the kitchen and was damaged. I have pictures to show how damaged it was. I could not deliver this to my daughter. She chose this lovely cake and now it was ruined. 9- The compensation for this awful situation was a 10% discount on our bill. Not even to make up some desserts for the kids and still sing happy birthday. It was very much of take it or leave it. I will not ever return to this place and will freely tell people how poor the service is and that they ruin kids cakes with no care to rectify...
