I was very excited to try colours. I love the concept of the restaurant and it's good value for money. I loved the layout of the restaurant and the way the tables are set out. Its very professional and Antonio runs a tight ship. You receive a home made bread roll with butter which is a nice touch. The bread was a little bit too sweet for my liking. For the starter I had the goats cheese. I loved the presentation but was not overwhelmed. The flavours were balanced but some sort of drizzle like balsamic wouldn't go a miss. For the main, I had chicken breast, pasta puttanesca sauce and it came with potatoes mushy cauliflower and carrots ?? I found the combination very odd. The sauce was lovely as was the chicken. Not too sure about the accompanying vegetables. The triple cooked chips were nice, could have been firmer. Overall, not overwhelmed but it was a nice way to spend the evening whilst supporting local talent. This place has the potential to be excellent if the students were more careful with cooking times and refined the side dishes.

This was our 1st visit to Colours Restaurant. What an absolute gem. The service was excellent and the food delicious, fresh and beautifully presented. We had lunch. 3 courses, 2 coffees and I had a medium glass of wine. Very reasonably priced at £41.00. We were a little dubious about being the only ones in the restaurant at the time and thought that we mught feel like we were being watched. However we should not have worried. The staff were attentive and not intrusive and there was a great choice of music playing. I think St Helen's should be so proud of this restaurant, it's young people that are training for a career in hospitality and of course the team behind them. Thank you and we can't wait for our next visit x

Ham hock & vegetables were really nice, but very salty. Sticky toffee pudding & toffee sauce was ok. Service was good, only our party of 30 in there on a Thursday night, otherwise it would have been empty with no atmosphere. Place was spotlessly clean. Not enough choice for me with only 4 main meals available, maybe increase this to 6. Personally I struggled for choice as I only tried the ham hock as a...
