Completely by chance we walked past this place yesterday and decided to pop in for Brunch. It was pretty damn good. So good that we went back today for Sunday Lunch... And that was so good, we've booked for next week.
I'm from St Helens and it makes me quite sad how the town centre has declined over the last few years but this place totally makes it worth the trip.
The welcome was really personable and friendly and the atmosphere was really chilled in there - a real mix of people meeting friends or family. Then the food arrived and that just took it up a notch - the steak and eggs from the brunch menu was great - as were the sesame cauliflower bites.
Back today for the roast dinner and it was awesome. We shared a "pigs in blankets" and a cauliflower cheese. Both were lovely but the Cauliflower Cheese was something else - my wife believes it's the best CC she's ever had. On to desert and the Cookie Biscoff Pie is frankly obscenely good - I'd normally rather have a glass of wine rather than a dessert but having tried it, it's phenomenal.
Kudos to the kitchen team, I was able to watch them as they cooked and the effort level was first-rate - ultra-freshly cooked veg, plated as soon as it was perfectly ready.
Absolutely made up to have stumbled across this place. It's not "cheap" but you get what you pay for and given the quality of the food and experience - it's absolutely superb value.
Really can't recommend the place...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGreat concept and wonderful options, especially/including plant based. It was only hard to locate because the restaurant sign is very dull. The sat nav (having travelled from Manchester) pin pointed a location close by but we didn't spot it straight away. I enjoyed most of the food except for the Thai Green Curry, which only seemed to have heat as flavour. The cauliflower wings and enchiladas were lovely. Non of the food has salt added, which I thought was a brilliant idea, as it can be added as much or sparingly as you'd like. Tom welcomed us in and explained the menu. When asked about the restaurant and its history, he proudly told it from the beginning, including the the brothers who own it, the concept and it's target market. The restaurant is very clean and spacious. We needed to be in the area anyway and even though I did enjoy the dining experience, I probably wouldn't travel as far for it but I highly...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWell i went because I heard or better read a couple of good things about this place. About the great atmosphere, and how healthy it was. First of all, you got to put your own meal together, which is great till you start with your first choice, and two of the things you wanted are not available, so now you try to fit what you like with something else till unfortunately that choice is also not available. So you end up with something you didn't actually wanted, because you try to make it fit. I wanted fresh squeezed orange juice guess what ? They run out, by this time, I was playing with the same idea. They had apple juice, it was in a jug in the fridge and looked very much like cartons juice( fresh apple juice is cloudy) I had fish cakes that had mostly sweet potato in it, which I like but not ordered, and the vegetables there so hard I nearly broke a tooth, I never overcook my veg. But this...
