Visited after the first time in lockdown, staff are brilliant explained new protocol, all friendly and welcoming. It was the food that let it down, ordered gammon the peas were freezing so complained, staff took it back to kitchen for it to be microwaved!! Which then made the gammon and chips so dry and hard they couldn't be cut. Also ordered hunters chicken, which is chicken in bbq sauce with streaky bacon and cheddar and mozzarella on top. What came was very dry chicken, with either cooking bacon or gammon (honestly was so thick) and then cheese sauce and bbq sauce, the nicest bit was the melted cheese on top, but I've never in all my life had hunters chicken with cheese sauce 😷 we asked for a refund for the gammon which was given straight away (although heads up if you pay on app you have to wait 3-5 days) told the staff member over the hunters chicken to which he said the chef was back from lockdown and maybe thats why the food wasn't up to standard but I didnt ask for a refund as didnt want to create a fuss. He was helpful and apologetic which made the experience more positive. I would go back for a drink but I wouldnt spend...
Read morewe had my mother in laws 80th birthday party at the lovely George and dragon pub. It was a surprise for her, so I wanted it to be as perfect as possible, the staff and venue did not disappoint! The staff could not do enough for us they were extremely attentive and with lots of 80 year old women that can be a tough job lol but I have to say what an amazing evening we all had the best time. The food was made by amazing kitchen staff, led by Braden (kitchen manager) it's was a fantastic spread and so much choice we were lost for words. The managers (Adam and Nick ) who worked closely with me to deliver everything we wanted for the party were from start to finish brilliant! And not forgetting to thank Sam and kirsty who made it all possible and played the best 50s music all evening at the end the birthday girl had a good dance it was so good to see her so happy so from the bottom of our hearts we would like to say a massive thankyou to the george and dragon this won't be the last you see of us we are already planning our...
Read moreThe place is quite basic, but it's pretty much what u expect from a greene king pub, it's cheap and cheerful, the food was piping hot and very nice for the money u pay, I marked it down 1 star as when we got there we were informed that they didn't have quite a lot of the foods/meal choices in stock which was quite a list, luckily they had something that we were happy to eat, and the fact that I hey 20% off food blue light discount and 10% off drink also made it only £66 for 5 meals and 5 drinks which is definitely unbeatable, although i must admit it didn't have the most classiest of clientele (and I'm certainly not posh) in at the time I was sceptical at first, but it wasn't to bad, and the staff were great, they were friendly with a good sense of humour and extremely helpful and accommodating and they definitely made the place, therefore I would probably go again as with the food discount and the friendly staff you definitely...
