I've been a customer over 15 years; had many meals, nights out & function hires with catering - so this is an honest review. I had a meal today (April '23) and actually felt unwell afterwards. The food was terrible, the service was all over the show & the pub looks run down. It was tired, dirty and just lacked attention to detail with no atmosphere. It is like it has lost it's passion and is just existing. I would say it shows as was empty in the restaurant around evening meal time, and in general after a warm(ish) day. Used to be booming! Everywhere looked unloved; broken bunting hung, muddy grass, barriers up, no table tea lights, plantpots filled with cig dimps. Inside there was no background music in the restaurant area, scratched tables, food splashed up lamps, blue tac sticking the wait sign together. I'll leave it there on the inspection, as I'm not Alex Polizzi - but you get the idea! Back to the food. There were different printed versions of the menu, staff unclear on offerings & untrained (we are always big tippers as I work in Hospitality and eat everywhere from greasy spoons to 5* restaurants, we get everyone has to start somewhere - but basic training is a must). For the prices charged I can see why custom has dropped off. My partner ordered steak, medium cooked. The plate was 'dripping' and was offputting. Chips were OK, but seemed frozen. The sauce was a good consistency but gave him an 'upset stomach' - he normally has the constitution of an ox, literally!

My curry consisted of pitta bread, with hard rice and a jar of Pataks sauce. I will say the chicken was nicely cooked! We ended up paying for our wine as was told this wasn't in the Wednesday 'deal' after a mix up, wasn't bothered, but the bottle that came out additional was like vinegar. We don't normally do 'deals' but it seemed to good to be true, it was. We paid the bill as we are British & I don't like awkwardness, but won't be returning. I'm leaving this review as this was a great pub with few left for local people & hoping the team take on honest feedback. If you hit a down, tour round the competition for inspiration. The Midway is a similar price point and the food isn't mind blowing on taste, but the service is spot on and it runs like clockwork. My personal opinion is to leave out the food for now and relaunch when the basics are back in hand. Maybe time for a fresh start? It just needs...

Been to the Hinds head quite a few times and every time I have come out with. The foot they serve is beautiful and the chips are on another level. All the food seems freshly made and comes out in around 15-20minutes (unless busy)

The Hinds Head is about 1.6miles from where I live and I would call this my “local” even though there is more than 3 Pubs before there.

The staff are brilliant and the Land Lady is super helpful and nice, when I do my cycle event for charity she always offers to put something up.

Only downside for the Hinds Head would be the costs of food and drinks, it’s not super expensive but costs enough to second guess yourself that your not in a premium bar. By this I mean Double spirit and mixer you are looking at around £7-8

The Beer Garden has a huge area with a quite a number of tables nicely placed out which is good especially on a hot day, near the doors it also has 4 heat lamp areas seating in case it gets a little cold.

Overall Experience is fantastic, if you are passing by or fancy going in for some food or date night, I would...

I had the pleasure of visiting this establishment yesterday for a grand birthday celebration, and I must commend our waitress, Jessica, who truly exceeded all expectations. Her attentiveness and willingness to assist us were remarkable; she was incredibly helpful throughout our time there.

I entrusted her with a cake to be stored in the refrigerator, and upon its return, I was delighted to find that she had adorned it with additional decorations, a thoughtful gesture that truly enhanced our experience. Moreover, she generously provided us with ice cream and cream to accompany the cake, showcasing her dedication to ensuring our enjoyment.

Jessica's confidence and warmth were evident as she even joined in singing "Happy Birthday," adding a personal touch to our festivities. I cannot express enough my gratitude for her exceptional service; she truly went above and beyond for our table. Thank you once again, Jessica, for making our celebration...

Went for a birthday meal with our friends and were really impressed! Food was served piping hot and tasted amazing - good variation on offer as well (burgers, pasta, fish and chips, fried chicken, and a vegan section) so there's definitely something for everyone. Portions are pretty generous, it's unlikely you'll leave here unsatisfied. Atmosphere is typical pub vibes - got a little loud at times from other visitors but that's to be expected. No obnoxious loud music or TVs blaring, so bonus points for that.

Stopped over for the night in our Motorhome. Excellent parking. Quiet and safe. Very nice, clean, well kept Pub. Friendly helpful staff. We didn't eat but the menu was excellent. Nice selection of beers. Would definitely recommend a visit to the Hinds Head.
