Jay's cafe — Restaurant in Stoke-on-Trent

Been here a few times over the years. I give this place another go after the last time thinking things would change as I wanted a nice breakfast but was disappointed as when we arrived other people who came in after us got their orders taken before us and also had their food within about 10mins of ordering and took a long time for our food come by that time the hot drinks were not hot. The order wasn't fully right but we sorted that ourselves by swapping things over. The mushrooms were chewy, not cooked right, chips hard dry, bacon was ok, sausage not the best, egg was nice and bread and butter. Bread and butter helped it taste alot better. Milkshake was really nice though can't fault it, had cream and sprinkles. Such a shame as the food has changed since it changed hands. Server/waitress was nice who took order. Would have loved to give a positive review but just can't sorry.

Absolutely disappointed with this place, ordered a spud with beans and cheese for collection, said my order will be ready for pick up in 15mins, got there and had to wait nearly 20 mins extra... then i return home to find the most dissapointing meal ever, spud was ok but there was barely any beans and only a sprinkle of cheese AND the cheese was put on top of the beans which is terrible, and they serve it with salad, my salad was fully wet making my spud also soggy! this place doesn't know how to make spuds, avoid it, not worth £6.80, could've made myself a better spud and drenched it with a full can of beans for much much less than 7 quid, never ever! ever! ordering anything from this...

I have visited this cafe multiple times and don’t believe I have ever had a problem, but on this occasion I have to say I was very disappointed with the food I was served, I ordered a chicken salad baguette, on arrival it looked great, but when I opened the sandwich up to put on mayonnaise I found that the chicken was an awful grey/green colour, I absolutely didn’t want to eat this as it didn’t look very healthy at all, I picked off all the chicken and just ate the salad roll, my mum went to pay and made them aware of what I had found, but didn’t get much of a concerned reply….. really don’t know what happened on this visit, because like I said it’s normally...
