Do not book, if you want a quick service!!! We had a table booked at 8.30pm. Drink orders were taken reflectively quick along with poppadoms, served swiftly. We chatted with the party we were with the time flow by when the table next to us approached the waiter to ask for the bill due to waiting over an hour for the main, at this point we also realised we had been waiting just as long as them, the other table were advised their food was coming out of the kitchen, so we thought ours would follow soon after, we approached the waiter and told that will not be the case but they would serve as soon as possible. But during this time I noticed the online takeaway orders were flying out of the door, I told the waiter well how come these orders were still been issued when they got a restaurant full of people with empty tables he confirmed they had stopped these orders to concentrate on the people at were in the restaurant, we decided to give them the benefit of the doubt!!!! 20 minutes later still no food arriving at our table but yet more orders leaving in the foil takeaway bags my husband approached yet another waiter to ask what the crack is, and he was informed that the food would at least be another 12 minutes, and that there had been a scrap in the kitchen with their staff and the kitchen staff had left the premises leaving the waiting on staff the run the kitchen, at this point we as a party decided to leave, and put it this way not to ever return to the restaurant as a dine in or takeaway. Not once did the waiters approach and advise that there would be a delay in service but they knew the situation that what supposed to of happened in their kitchen, but happily came along and ask if we required more drinks for the table. To me it was a load of rubbish that there had been a scrap in the kitchen, they could not meet the demand of a full restaurant. And yes we have used the restaurant previously and the service as always been 5 stars, but this evening it isn't even worthy of...
Read moreWe were seated at a dirty table, we asked them to clean it, they moved us to another table, (they didn't clean it, and seated other people there) we waited an hour after our poppadoms were finished before our mains arrived, we had to ask where our food was. One of the mains ( a dish we order regularly) had a new sauce on it, which was hot and not to our liking, they replated the food , but this left the dish dry and without onions. Whilst waiting an hour for food, we were not asked if we required any drinks, we requested these when enquiring where our food was, the water served was warm. We requested the bill, which did have a slight discount for the problem with the sauce, the waiter who came to take payment didn't say a word, just entered the amount into the card machine and placed it in front of us, no please, thank you. No hand towels or table cloths, not like a restaurant, more like a local pub grub. We will not return here. We have visited the kismet in burslem for many years, and have always found the complete opposite service, they are friendly, welcoming and the food...
Read moreWe go to Kismet quite often, and it’s one of our favorite Indian restaurants in Stoke-on-Trent.
The food is always delicious we usually order a chicken korma and a chicken bhuna. The korma is perfectly seasoned with amazing flavors, and the bhuna is just as good. The portion sizes are spot on, with plenty of chicken and rich, tasty sauce.
We recently ordered a chicken korma, a chicken bhuna, 2 poppadoms, and 2 naan breads for around £35, which we think is great value. The poppadoms are freshly made to order and taste fantastic. The naan breads are nice, but a little on the small side for the price.
The staff are very friendly and welcoming, though we do sometimes feel a bit rushed — they tend to approach us as soon as we sit down and check in quite frequently, which can feel a little much.
We also order from Kismet through Just Eat regularly, and the food is still just as good when delivered. Overall, we highly recommend Kismet definitely one of the best Indian spots in...
