Planet Bollywood — Restaurant in Stoke-on-Trent

First and probably the last time we'll go here, not absolutely terrible but not good either. I don't like to give bad reviews as I know how dangerous that can be to someone's business, but you have to earn a good review.

As you can see, the service was the highlight, the staff are quite good, but that's the only real positive.

The food isn't authentic as the waiter kept banging on about, or chef is kashmir and that's why the food looks different. What a load of piffle, it looked like the same basic food you get from a couple of doors down. He kept saying that's why it's more hot, spice don't make a dish hot, they are supposed to add flavour and texture. Again the food was edible and if you are OK with fair priced basic curry this is not a bed place, if you prefer more depth of flavour to your curry then this will be a little disappointing.

No real atmosphere seating is very cramped and if you are larger than average in size the seating would be uncomfortable. Only softy drinks are provided, you have to bring your own alcohol which wasn't a problem to us on this particular evening .

To sum it up, cheap and cheerful. Not our favourite curry...

4 of us had a meal here this evening. The food was very nice and the service okay...but... We ordered our poppadoms & mains. Even before we had all finished our poppadoms they were trying to clear our plates away and then pushed for us to have our main straight away as it would take about 15mins to arrive. We agreed but within 5 mins we had our mains. The second we finished different waiters were trying to get us to pay our bill and leave. We had been there just over 1 hour. Eventually, after trying to intimidate us into leaving by continually asking if everything was okay, bringing card machines etc the manager effectively asked us to leave because they needed the table. At no time was any time limit explained when we booked the table. Frankly although the food was nice I will never visit again as I don't expect to be rushed off our table. £67 for 100 mins of table...

Never thought I’d be posting this I’ve always loved this place for food been going for years. We came last night a party of 9 and we sat upstairs. My husband has woken with sickness this morning and other family members are not well either. We can only assume this was from the curry house. The service was really slow, staff seems few and far between. There was about 5 flys upstairs and the music was turned on too loud. We informed the staff and we noticed the member of staff swatting them. We asked to move but there was no seats free downstairs we were told. Unfortunately this was all too much. We won’t be returning to this place. It’s definitely gone down hill over the years. I used to love...
