Sutherland Arms — Restaurant in Stoke-on-Trent

Myself and my young daughter stayed here for a night: Hayley - the landlady - was friendly and courteous. Nothing was too much trouble. The room was more than adequate - clean, warm and smelled of fresh linen. Despite arriving rather late to the establishment, and The Sutherland Arms not serving food, Hayley kindly provided my daughter with a fresh ham salad baguette and myself with a Caribbean takeaway meal (Hayley was ordering one for herself and suggested we share!) Tell me a 'chain hotel' that would EVER provide THAT kind of offering and service! It was just what I needed! We were up and put fairly early due to my daughter partaking in a gymnastics completion locally, however, the shared kitchen facility was perfect for us; we were able to help ourselves to ~Nespresso coffees, croissants, fresh fruit and yogurts. So pleased I discovered the Sutherland Arms as we will no doubt in the future be frequenting this place as opposed to the 'chain' travel lodges/inns etc.. Thank you Hayley for being the most...

Stayed one night and very impressed by the accommodation. Hayley has good taste and has applied it well to the rooms upstairs, while retaining the homely community feel of the pub downstairs. Everywhere, is clean and shining - old downstairs as well as new upstairs. Rooms are well soundproofed with excellent quality new windows, beautiful furnishings with crisp sheets and a most comfortable bed. Bathroom though small is modern and the shower excellent - easily controllable and top class fittings. She uses her technology capabilities most effectively from receipting payment, to effective wi-fi, good TV and security locks that have easy to remember numbers. Everything works well. Breakfast is well-planned and ample and the communal kitchen well equipped - or you can take it on a tray to eat in your room. We were delighted; and the price was very reasonable for such good quality....

Amazing place to stay! Would absolutely recommend without any hesitation.

The owners Hayley and Dave was there to greet me. They messaged me before hand to introduce themselves and ask for any requirements.

They are extremely friendly and there service was second to none!

Hayley even took me to my training herself (Covid Safe Of Course) - nothing was too much for them.

The place is decorated and cleaned to an extremely high standard! My room was astonishing really! It was warm and cosy and felt very homely whilst modern. The room had all facilities you would need and more.

The shared kitchen was frankly superb - there’s even a washer and dryer to use!

Any resource I possibly needed was available to hand. Hayley and Dave have really thought of everything!

I will certainly use and promote The Sutherland Arms to friends, family...
