Enjoyed a very pleasant late lunch at this cafe today. There was a wide choice of sandwich options and fillings, also jacket potatoes, soup, traditional pies, home-baked cakes and gluten free choices. I had a crusty brown baguette with brie, mango chutney and salad leaves. Husband had a white baguette with bacon and brie and the addition of cranberry sauce as a special request. The baguettes were very attractively presented on long dishes with coleslaw, salad leaves and crisps. The baguettes were freshly made and very tasty and filling.

My cappuccino was beautifully presented with a very expertly rendered heart on top. The coffee itself was rich and smooth - some of the best I have tasted and I am very fussy about coffee!

We shared a brownie, which was also delicious. Lighter in texture than most brownies but very moist and chocolatey. It was a nice treat to round out our lunch.

The staff were all very friendly and efficient. Our order arrived promptly; we were asked if everything was to our satisfaction and tables were cleared of crockery and cleaned quickly, ready for the next guests.

I would not hesitate to recommend this lovely little cafe and I would definitely go again on my next visit to Stratford upon Avon. We didn't venture outside as it was not that warm, but I'm sure that the outside space would be an enjoyable place to pass time on a warm day. ...

Warning, do not eat here. 1) See circled pic, the food prep guy wasn't wearing gloves, kept wiping his hands on his dirty clothes, and was cross-contaminating food, eg one minute bacon on his hands, the next minute salad 2) They left food out on the counter for the whole time we sat there, salad and coleslaw was at room temperate for 20 mins, was never taken to any customers, 3) the guy at the till (see pic) was rude to me, and the people who ordered after me. 4) The big sign outside said "Sausage rolls" and when I ordered one he bluntly said Nope and didn't suggest any alternatives, merely pointing to the menu while shrugging his shoulders. They don't deserve your business when there are many other establishments in the town. BTW they advertise gluten free, I don't believe that from the cross-contamination that I saw. UPDATE: read the owner's response, that will tell you everything you need to know about the owner's attitude to customer service. In his reply he didn't say I was wrong about hygiene either. He was just being aggressive...

Good choice of food, Coffee really well made and prices very reasonable compared to other nearby places. But the decor is a quite dated inside. Outside, although it was a bright courtyard, there could be a few flowers or something to make it feel inviting. The main issue for me is the shared toilet. It needs a deep clean rather than just a wipe with a cloth. I realise people have used it all day but it was not very clean and it needs some fresh gloss to smarten up. Also the floor near the sink has a tear in it and the windows in the front were dirty. The staff were polite and the service quick. I appreciate it's tough business to make a profit so investment in premises isnt easy but without it people are less likely to return a second time. We enjoyed the food and...

The lunch, a sandwich, a soup and 2 teas was expensive. The soup was bland and the although the sandwich was OK, there was a long black hair in the coleslaw. When I showed the "manager" he apologised but denied that the shop was at fault for the presence of the hair. So I asked whose fault it was and the manager was not able to provide an answer only saying it was nothing to do with Cafe 37 as he himself had mixed the coleslaw. I didn't accept this and we were offered nothing in return for the hairy coleslaw. Maybe Stratford Trading Standards will get a better answer. Certainly, the food hygiene standards are somewhat lacking. .

The latte was excellent and full of flavour. I also tried a brownie which was delicious, while my partner had a scone with cream, jam, and a hot chocolate. The scone was enjoyable, but didn’t feel particularly authentic or homemade, which is the reason for four stars instead of five. Aside from that, everything else we ordered was lovely. The café has a pleasant, quaint atmosphere, and the staff were fairly friendly. I’d happily visit again, though perhaps not if I were specifically looking for a traditional cream tea.
