Usha Bangladeshi Cuisine — Restaurant in Stratford-on-Avon

We had the unfortunate experience of this awful restaurant this week. Here for couple of nights in Stratford upon Avon as ‘curry enthusiasts’ we thought we would eat at one of the Indian restaurants. We looked at reviews and decided to visit the ‘Usha Bangladeshi Cuisine’ on 28 Meer Street. We had dismissed similar restaurants in the town based on other reviews. A big mistake …

What happed next was shocking, the restaurant was empty when we went past at around 19.00 .. a little while later it was still empty but we went in (naively based on the reviews) We sat down asked a few questions and then ordered. The state of the toilets should have been an early warning to me. They were disgusting .. I would say less than 10 minutes later the food came out. It was awful (and i mean really awful). For example one dish a madras, was a thin soup with a few small pieces of over salted tough chicken (about one third of a chicken breast), the second dish was no better .. it really was slop. I can cook, and I am fairly skilled in this type of cuisine. The food was so bad .. we decided to not eat it .. we said we would pay for the two drinks we had partially consumed and leave.

What happened next was even more shocking .. the person claiming to be the manager and the woman who took the order started a full on defensive argument. As we got up to leave the man blocked our exit saying we would not be leaving until we paid the full bill (we had not eaten any of it or finished our drinks). As I tried to leave I was physically pushed back. I explained this was silly and we would like to leave. The gentleman refused so I tried to push my way past .. my wife (we are not young) was now quite distressed, I managed to prise open the outer door that the man was holding shut, so she could exit. The lady who had served us had now joined the affray to prevent me leaving .. pulling me back by my neck collar, the man then locked the door trapping me inside .. I eventually managed to unlock it and exited but not without a struggle and substantial bruising to my arm with two bleeding cuts.

This was a simple case of this restaurant serving really unacceptable food that we were not prepared to eat or pay for .. the subsequent actions of the two members of staff was not only illegal, but also not becoming of a restaurant in this country. I rate this establishment...

Worst Restaurent i have ever seen in my life. A beautiful day unfortunately became the worst night. Came here to have dinner with my friends we just settled down ordered beer was ordering staters the waitress started arguing and refused to serve us food.. such an arrogant lady, ill mannered... I think she judge people by there attire i really dont know how this resturant is still running.. I am placing a compaint against this restaurnt...

My friend went to use their washroom he came back the lady started yelling we already had ordered 3 drinks we were ordering the food, the waitress asked us to leave as she tot we was just ordering one or two dish.. she misheard us but still we are not there to get free service... we are paying for what we want they have to show that manners...

We have gone to several different indian restaurent in uk mainly in birmingham london never have such worst experience... I hope that someone teach the manager and waitress how to treat their customer, forget customer how to treat people..

Even if we did something wrong which we didnt, its their resposibility to treat us in a better way... I will surely complaint against this restaurent... such worst...

Worst dining experience.... I am writing this review just standing infront of the restaurant, because before leave Stratford with good memories had the worstest experience here at the restaurant. Worst service as the staff was so rude especially the waitress and the manager.. Me and MY HUSBAND WAS HUMILIATED FIRST EXPERIENCE AFTER VISITING SO MANY PLACES MANY RESTAURANT THIS ONE WAS THE WORST....

Me being an Indian I have travelled and have been to many restaurant from higher end to street food vendors, even they have much better attitude towards customers Than this restaurant staff has...
