Enfes — Restaurant in Sunderland

My husband and I visited this restaurant Monday 16th January at around 2.30 for a late lunch/early tea. It is really nicely decorated, we were the only customers in at that time, we chose our seats and the waiter helped me off with my coat and hung it up for me which I thought was a nice touch. We were given a lunch special menu and also the alacarte menu, but there was a good selection on the special menu which we ordered from. Our starters arrived nicely presented and fresh and chilled, they were delicious. It was a while for our mains to arrive which were freshly cooked and were substantial and also delicious, I had to leave a bit so I could partake of the wonderful pudding of which I chose Baclava. My favourite restaurant in Sunderland. Not only is the food amazing and tastes incredible, it is also presented in such a beautiful way that you feel you need to take pictures before you dig in! The price is awesome too with their happy hour (2 courses for £9.95).

The service is so so friendly and very quick too. You are seated quickly, drinks are served quickly and the food arrives in great time that you aren't sat waiting around for hours.

Today I went, and I had ordered more than I could eat. I asked for my food (partially eaten) to be put into a box to be taken home. The server packed up an entirely new order of the same meal and gave me it to take home. I only noticed when I got home so I felt I had to do something in return and write this review.

Today we had a booking for two at 12.30pm and upon arrival the restaurant was very quiet and very clean and tidy. We were greeted immediately and seated. Others soon arrived, but the waiter was soon at hand to present the menu and take our drink order. I chose the humous and flatbread, my friend chose the stuffed vine leaves. Both starters were very tasty and the portions were ample. My main was a kofta with dips and salad. It was very very tasty and my friend opted for a chicken and pepper dish with rice, she also found hers to be very tasty. We ended the meal with dessert of chocolate fudge cake and baklava. These were both equally satisfying.

I/we would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking tasty food in a great atmosphere. Excellent...
