DO NOT go here if you have any allergies. Unfortunately the staff have no awareness of how serious the impact could be when serving food that customers have specified they’re allergic to, and this was across at least 3 members of staff. I was shocked at how blasé they were about the situation and would hate for someone to become seriously ill or lose their life hence having to leave such a poor review - staff need significant training before anyone comes to harm.
I had specified that I had an allergy when ordering my food and was reassured that what I had ordered did not contain it. My food was served and fortunately I smelt it before eating and was concerned that it may have the allergen in it. I asked a different staff member - she said no it doesn’t contain. I asked her to check. She checked in the kitchen and came back and said “yes it does have it in”. No apology!!! No acknowledgment of how serious an incident this could have been. After quite a long pause and my face probably being a picture she asked whether I would like to swap that item (the sausages on the vegan breakfast) for something else. I said yes please and asked what she could do instead. She offered more hash browns bringing the total number of hash browns on my plate to 4!? No reduction in price, no apology, what I had hoped would be a yummy breakfast was stodgy and felt incredibly heavy and unhealthy. The person who brought the hash browns out also did not apologise or acknowledge what had happened. I was honestly shocked at how poor this all was.
On a positive note, my friends hot chocolate looked incredible, and they helped open the doors for us so we could...
Read moreWent for lunch here recently and sadly had a very disappointing experience. My partner and I both ordered a ham and cheese panini each, with crisps swapped for chips. After 25 minutes we still had no food and nobody had warned us of any delay so we asked at the counter about how long it would be, where we were informed that it would be about 5 more minutes. The chips then showed up (which did taste very nice) at which point we were asked if we would like any sauces. We asked for mayo and after going off to get it, the waitress then informed us that they didn’t have any (despite there being multiple items on the menu which claimed to have mayo in/on them). Then the panini showed up (with crisps on both plates too) and they were okay, but definitely not something that should have taken over half an hour to make. In addition, nobody once came over to check how our food was etc. and we only had one set of cutlery between us. It is a great shame as I know this is a lovely little cafe, but on this occasion both the food and service were very...
Read moreAbsolutely amazing! The staff were so friendly and the atmosphere was just great :). The manager was very understanding of gluten free requirements and helped a lot. As my mum can't have gluten we had to order off the gluten free menu and only 3 things were not available that were on the normal menu which is very rare to find. I had an English breakfast muffin and it was luxurious I have never tasted a better muffin. For a drink, I had an Oreo hot chocolate and it tasted just like oreos!! My sister had a burger and she said that it was yummy. My dad had a chilli burger and he said "it was the most perfect burger ever." My mum had a cooked breakfast and she said "this makes me feel better about being gluten free" I also tried some and I couldn't tell the difference from the gluten free one and normal ones. I definitely recommend this to anyone who is gluten free or is in the mood for something delightful. Also shout out to the the man who gave us extra lotus biscuits they...
