On holiday in Essex we visited Clacton-on-Sea and ended up at The Old Market Cafe. Personally I think Clacton should be renamed OldMarketCafeBury, because I can think of no better reason to go down Clacton then visiting this tearoom.
I came down with my family, three of which have different and difficult combinations of allergies. Wheat, gluten, milk, dairy, tomatos to name some. This is allways a challenge eating out and in many occasions we couldn't be served and were sent away. But the staff was ever so friendly, helpfull and patient. No trouble was spared to make our stay (and food) enjoyable. And it sure was.

   Read moreFound this quaint, homely café for a nice cuppa at the weekend and then booked for lunch for friends birthday on the Tuesday. Pleasant atmosphere and nice polite and helpful staff. Decent mugs of tea and all our meals were excellent - from all day breakfast, lasagne and quiche. Lovely coleslaw. Good size servings.
